RE: 6 pt hyd auto leveling system and Roto-chocks

Question is. Can you hitch up with the 6 point system down? If not. Whats holding the 5er in place besides landing gear?:E

RE: Coffee Maker

Bunn.....because it makes coffee very fast, keeps it hot and lasts a long time. Kinda pricey to start with, though.
I'll second that!

RE: Equal-i-zer, Reese Dual Cam, or Andersen No Sway?

They will all work although the Anderson design is the newest on the market and there is not a lot of folks using it yet. My preference is the Reese Dual Cam because I feel it is the best design and offers the most proactive sway resistance. It is harder to install initially but I feel it is worth it.

RE: spare tire

Bob:
Just a reccomendation based on 40+ years in the 24hr towing business.
Get a spare and take it with you. I know it takes up space but it will save you alot of time, trouble, and grief if and when the unexpected happens.

RE: Pullrite: industry or superrails?

If you get the super glide hitch you will only be able to tow other trailers that have a capture plate.
The above statement is untrue.
There are forum members who tow other people's 5ers with Super Glides and NO capture plate.
A couple that come to mind besides myself are flyswamper and Beach-Rat.
I do it with a device called a Slide Stop Adaptor.

RE: superglide problems

Based on what is said in the original post, one has to wonder if the capture plate is even installed or not. Wouldn't be the first time someone had the hitch installed in their pickup and tried to tow a trailer that didn't have a capture plate on it. Don't ask me how I know this... lol... (in fairness, I knew what I was doing when I tried it for a short trip across the parking lot...but wow it was far worse than I thought it would be). I ended up taking a simple design from fellow forum member C.B. and adapting it a bit to come up with my own slide-stop adapter which basically keeps the hitch from rotating/moving at all (in the absence of a capture plate).
Here's some pic's of what flyswamper is talking about.

RE: Quality under cabinet coffee maker

This might give you some ideas. I like my coffee brew with a Bunn drip coffee maker. It took up alot of counter space. Here's how I solvd that problem.
Maker eating counter space.

Up off the counter in serving position.

The maker doesn't move while traveling. I do however store the pot in a safe place when traveling.

RE: Do you guys take wood with you to the campsite?

Let me get this straight. We're not suppose to transport our own wood.
Yet I see truck and train loads going moving around the state of Wisconsin everyday.
???????????????????
C.B.
That wood is USDA inspected and certified.
Boy I'll sleep better tonight knowing that a government inspector looked at every log on that 110 car long logging train that went by me this morning!:B

RE: Forward Toolbox clearance when using Pullrite 16k SS hitch

I don't have a tool box in front of my Pullrite. What I do have is a Pace-Edwards roll up tonneau cover. The box for that goes back 14" from the front of the pickup box towards the Super-Glide without issue.

RE: Difference in backing up a fifth wheel

Backing up anything takes practice. Backing a 5th wheel with any hitch takes extra practice if you've only backed bumper hitch trailers. No need to fear it. Just find a BIG parking lot and get used to it and you'll be fine.

PS Instead of boxes water filled plastic milk jugs work.
