RE: toll roads

Once politicians figure out (and they have) how to electronically reach into your wallet, get ready! These tolls are just another tax, and while they may seem insignificant, they will only increase. Insurance company's want to charge insurance premiums based on on board vehicle GPS's. Time of day that you travel, are you obeying the speed limit. How many miles do you really drive, etc. etc. etc.

RE: Maybe some sanity is coming..

Using a cell phone while driving is an acceptable risk. I'm sick of the government trying to protect everyone from everything. If cell phones are not an acceptable risk, then let's drop the speed limits on the interstates to 10 MPH, it would be safer, we might save a few lives. And let's make every driver have an observer, just like a ski boat. The observer could do the navigating and could double check for cross traffic.

RE: AZ State Land - You do need stinkin permits!

We pay law enforcement to enforce the laws, and when they do what they're supposed to do, you label them with a "Police State" label. The officers didn't ask for this law, they don't promulgate laws, they just enforce what your elected or appointed official's dream up. If the officers weren't out there working, you would probably slam them for staying in the doughnut shop.

RE: Newbie needs help

Before I spent anymore time on this RV, I'd start asking about the title. Does he have the title "In Hand" in his name? Or will that question result in more fuzzy answers. Anyone that wants to sell an RV can figure out how to provide some type of photo, either digital or print. Bull.

RE: Fort Stevens SP, OR - loop recommendations?

Stayed at Fort Stevens two nights last summer. Never again. Place is wall to wall people. The park employees were high speed and very short on manners. Sorry, but that's our experience.

RE: Washington State Camping

We live just East of Leavenworth and we camp all over this area. The Lake Wenatchee State park has had major closures due to a root rot issue with the trees. See this link... Lake Wenatchee The park in Monitor is open, and is well maintained, there are several State Parks and Chelan County PUD parks North of Wenatchee along the Columbia River. The Leavenworth KOA isn't for us, but we have stayed at the Thousand Trails on the Chiwawa Loop Road. Fish Lake is very crowded and noisy. There are several Forest Service campgrounds scattered around the area and there are a lot of boondocking areas. It's a beautiful area, enjoy your stay.

RE: help...no electricity

I have a Keystone Cougar and I used to have this same problem. There are two 12 volt circuit breakers on the drivers side of the trailer tongue near the batteries. These breakers get sprayed by water when you're towing, and get corroded. I replaced mine, and mounted them inside a weather proof box from NAPA. Pick up some spares and you're good to go.

RE: campfire in a can

We have and use this one... We've used it more here at the home than on the road. The grand kids love to make smores. It's compact, safe, easy to setup and pretty thrifty on propane. The larger ones use more fuel per hour. Our preference is a real campfire, but this works when that's not an option.
