RE: Winegard Debuts New Omnidirectional Antenna

Somewhat related...
We use a Happauge 950 USB digital/analog tuner in the RV w/ the batwing. Is there a difference in reception strenth from one digital tuner and another?
So, for instance, is it possible that I could buy an actual small HDTV and its tuner would pick up more stations from the same antenna?
Yes...my lcd picks up 6 channels. When I use my converter box on the same tv I get 10
Wow. That's a huge difference. Do you know which lcd sets are ,ore likely to have the stronger tuners?
NO, the tv is an Emerson from Chinamart...I just got a another tv for Christams...i'm curious if it's going to be better

Robert;
Nice looking TT. However, I would loved to have sitting in a chair across the street with a cold drink in hand the first time you backed into your parking spot.:B

RE: Straight Talk...Bring your own GSM phone coming 2-7-12

I am surprised that they are not saying no smartphones along with no Blackberry because Straight Talk and Net 10 (both sub-companies of Tracfone) use the Sprint network for smartphone service and this is not a GSM network.
Are you saying if I have an ATT (GSM) I phone 4 it's not using ATT towers with Straight Talk?
I had contacted Straight Talk when I first looked at no contract systems a couple of months ago - because it was not clear if they were saying on their site that smartphones use the Sprint Network for Data and the Verizon system for voice. The email reply that I got back from them stated that all smartphones on Straight Talk (and they were talking Android at the time since this bring your own offer is new) use the Sprint Network for both data and voice - with no roaming off that network for voice or data. (This seems to be the case for most of the no contract phone plans other than those offered directly from ATT or T-Mobile.) With this, I would be very surprised if they would activate any Iphone with full data service. A non-smartphone GSM on Straight Talk would access the ATT towers - but you are only getting email, messaging, and a standard web browser. No apps, etc. that would make it a smartphone.
Read their agreement very carefully - even with the smartphone plan you are not permitted to stream audio or video - and if you do, they can cut off service. This comes up on the agreements of several of the no contract smartphone plans - with the exception of Virgin Mobile. I have been researching this a lot because I would like to move from my carrier to a no contract plan for a smartphone - but I have yet to find one that really offers anything close to the non-smartphone service I have now.
EDIT - There apparently is a way to make an Iphone work on Straight Talk, but I do not believe it is an approved method if Straight Talk figured out that it was being done - here is a link to how -

Your info is out of date in re to smart phones...Yes the only smart phones available FROM ST were on Sprint, but NOW that you can bring your own phone you can use ANY GSM phone...I PHONES are welcome too. ST even sells the correct sim so it doesn't have to be trimmed to fit.
As far as streaming....you can get away with about 100mb of data per day before you raise red flags with ST

RE: Campground Etiquette - pass-throughs and back-ins

I ask for pull thru sites at a local CG if we are camping with friends so we can face each other. Some CG allow this some don't

RE: Harbor freight disconnect switch

The EASIEST disconnect switch is to simply remove the negative lead from the battery. Using a thumb screw on the terminal means it's a 5 second job and 100% effective.
I guarantee you can't un-do the battery box strap unhook the cable and put the strap back on in 5 seconds:B

RE: Harbor freight disconnect switch

IMHO
I think you should be looking for what is draining your batteries?
It's a VERY well known fact that there are parasitic drains in campers and if not used often batteries will go dead.

Straight Talk...Bring your own GSM phone coming 2-7-12

StraightTalk Jhonally
A new program will be releasing tomorrow (February 2nd) which will allow customers to bring an AT&T, T-Mobile GSM phone or an unlocked domestic GSM phone to Straight Talk or NET10 by simply buying a SIM card from us. In order to activate the service, you will need an Unlimited Airtime PIN or a credit card. This program will NOT work with Blackberry and branded Straight Talk, SafeLink, TracFone and NET10 phones. This will NOT work with CDMA phones as well. Thank you.

RE: H20 Tanks how long

Bottled water often comes from city water lines....They last MUCH longer than a few weeks...just sayin'
How Long Will Drinking Water Keep?
Differences
The question of how long drinking water will keep can only be answered by knowing what type of water was stored and how it was stored. There is a difference between commercially bottled water and water from a public water supply you store yourself.
Length
Most commercially bottled water will have an expiration date. Even if no expiration date is provided, the shelf life should be approximately one year. For water that comes from your faucet, pumped there by a municipal water source and stored in plastic containers, the water should be replaced every six months.
