RE: Columbus, GA.

I assume you are going for graduation? If so, there will be more than enough festivities to keep you busy. Family day, tours of the base, graduation, 3 day leave, etc. Any sightseeing will need to be done before or after your stay at Benning.

RE: Rv/Trailer- Letting it go back to the bank

Okay, I looked it up. California law allows for a lender to collect a deficiency balance on vehicle loans. It's covered under California Civil Code section 2983.3. But on the good side if they sell it for more than what is owed, including their expenses, then they have to give that money to the borrower within 45 days. Law Library Link I stand 50% corrected. Better track record than with my wife where I am 100% wrong.

That's a good one. I live here and never heard of it.

RE: Rv/Trailer- Letting it go back to the bank

California DOES NOT allow a suit for a deficiency balance. Any money owed if a vehicle or house is sold short of what is due in full CAN NOT be recovered in court. Only a very few states do not allow suits for deficiency balance and CA is among them. Not saying it is the right thing to do, but just saying. Lived in CA for 60+ years. I don't think this statement is correct. I'd need to see a bit of verification of this. First of all who would sell you something on a payment plan then just let you bring it back when they are bored with it, and it is worth less than what's owed. I'd be getting me a new rig every year. :) It is a fact and the ultimate cost of doing business in a state that does not allow suits pertaining to deficiency balances. AZ has a similar law on their books. It's not that they are letting borrowers return the purchase but are bound by the laws prevents recourse. The smart lenders seldom lend in the states that do not allow recourse, especially in such turbulent financial times such as we are in now.

RE: Shampoo dispenser installation

Double sided foam tape that is usually supplied with the dispenser. Clean all surfaces well with alcohol before installation.

RE: Rain on the way for Northern Florida 2/26/12

Perhaps you could stand outside of a bank announcing the time and temp. Not a very good forecast for the 500 today or tomorrow.

RE: shower sky light

Hi neighbor. I did just the opposite. I painted mine white with Krylon Fusion. It lets in plenty of light and also protects it from drying and cracking in the sun.

RE: EcoBoost Ordered 1/21 Delivery 2/27!

Even years later, a Monday build is not a great thing. Pretty much an old wives tale nowadays. Having said that, I'd probably rather it be built on a Monday than a Friday. People are too eager to get-r-done and get out on Fridays, or they just take the day off and we have to work shorthanded. I know as I work on a large manufacturing assembly line (Boeing 737's). Anyway, a big CONGRATS on the new truck! I too am jealous. Not an old wives tale at all. Although quality is much improved from decade to decade, the fact remains that workers of all industries are more likely to take off on a Monday or Friday. What's left? In the auto industry it means that a "utility man" will take over the absentee's duties. Utility men are qualifed to work all positions but often are not as proficient as the person they are replacing. Mistakes often happen when regular workers are replaced. It's a fact of all businesses. And as for robots now building cars; car building is still very much a hands on industry. Robots have taken over the difficult and repetitive jobs but the fitting of components are still very much hands on. Anyway, good luck with your new vehicle!

RE: 15 + mpg with V10 in 29 footer?

The Ford V-10 is great engine but contrary to popular belief the "10" does not refer to the number of cylinders. It is the mileage that you will never, ever, no how, no way, see regardless of what you are driving/pulling. :B Not true AT ALL! On our last cross-country journey from AZ to FL, once I got out of the mountains of the west and got onto the flats, I averaged 10 mpg on every fill up. Always cruised at 62 mph and that took into account all kinds of winds, weather, traffic, etc. I drive like I have an egg on the gas pedal while accelerating. Yep, lots of people passed me but I passed them at the gas pumps.

RE: Have you buffed or polished your headlight lenses?

2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper used wet will do a marvelous job. Just a drop of dish soap in the water for lubrication and rinse the paper often.

RE: Your favorite Arizona attractions

Personally, seeing the Arizona border in the rear view mirror as we were moving from AZ back to FL was the best thing I ever saw there. Sorry, but I just had to say it. If one likes dirt, dust, rocks, and wind, then you will be happy. We gave it 11 years and couldn't stand it another day.

RE: Leak-free Class C's

Any that are properly maintained will be leak-free. Because of all the vents, vent stacks, antennas, air conditioners, etc. that protrude through the roof, all must be sealed occasionally no matter the construction method or roof material.

RE: Any residual value in replaced tires?

Nope.... They have no value and if you did sell them YOU "could" be responsible for any accident or incident caused by their failure. On top of that, depending on where you live, you will pay $7 to $15 for EACH tire to have them disposed of for you. Tim Oh Tim. If what you say were true then used cars would be unable to be resold also. Boogy, boogy....something may happen. Well, of course it MAY.

RE: Hard covers for the spare tire

I've had two vans with those hard covers. A PITA for sure. To preserve the soft cover, I use Krylon Fusion paint. It's been on for 4 years and there is no cracking or peeling.

RE: What if?

I'd say one might be a fool for even looking at dealer financing. Better financing deals with no backside pricing ($ in the dealer's pocket) is available at your small local bank or credit union.
