RE: Desert Garbage

Hello Alpenliter,
The sad truth is that you robbed a trash collector of his comission for cleaning up the roadside!
Highway maintenance crews collect and bag the trash along the Arizona Roads, tie off the bags and leave them for later in the day when the Crew vehicle and utility trailer come along to gather the bags and crew.

RE: need help with my electrical

Hello Donowise,
Sorry for your frustrations. We are all willing to help, but we can only work with the information that is provided.
So, it sounds like you are working with a new to you RV.
Can you clarify that when you are NOT plugged in that your 12V items are functioning?
Can you clarify that when you are NOT plugged that you do not have 120V power inside?
Thanks for helping us to be able to help you.

RE: Door closer opens too far

I believe that d-mac1 is referring to the entry exit doors on the RV.
I offer that the door that opens more than 90° is the primary door and possibly has the hold open latch installed to the exterior. This would have a closer that is longer and has different mounting brackets.
The other door is possibly a secondary and possibly emergency exit from a bedroom area. since the door is opening only 90°, the closer might be shorter, or the attachment points are different with respect to the hinge side of the door. This door may not have the hold open latch installed on the outside.

RE: "Friend" plugged our trailer into a 220v outlet!

Hello Casey,
We are all saddened by what you have experienced. In your 3 posts to this point you have vented and not shared much helpful information to be able to truly assist you in determining the potential extent of your issues.
You indicated that your AC is currently not working, and that is 120V. You indicated that your ceiling lights are not working, but you have not indicated if they are 12V or 120V.
If these are 120V remove the bulbs from the fixture and test in your house. Do they appear to be burnt out? If so, describe what you see of the bulb.
If these are 12V, what else in your trailer is 12V? Do those items work?
You mentioned that your refrigerator works. Are you running it using 120V? 12V? Both ways?
Is your husband able to assist in the investigation? Tell him to break out his suit of armor, polish it up and get involved.
If you have a 30 amp chord it is possible that bad power entered your trailer, but only affected those items that were turned on. If you have a 50 amp chord, the same could apply if the outlet wiring was not compatible with the trailer.

RE: Arizona vehicle taxes

It at least used to be that as a part of the New unit purchase, you could decide whether to have the Park Model classified as a vehicle or real property. When classified as a vehicle, you received the annual license renewal paperwork and expense. When classified as real property you would receive the annual property tax statement. Either way the government received it's dues from the owner. Not certain if this is still the case, or what/if the advantages/drawbacks might be to either method.

RE: tandem Tow Dolly

Hello Drasek,
I think that you need to start with what the manufacturer states that the general capabilities of the dolly are.
As an example This manufacturer offers dollies in two lengths (161" v.s. 186") and states that the HDXL model is suitable for transporting a golf cart in addition to an automobile.
Another manufacturer appears to have a single trailer length with different capacities of frames. They also provide information as to determining the load capacity.
It seems that you are in need of your golf cart weight in addition to the front axle weight of your toad.

RE: Starcraft 176RB too low!!!!

Hello Gregan,
Can you post any photos of your axle/spring setup?
You may need to look at rollers at the tail end of the trailer.

RE: Newer 5th wheel wont fit a Dodge short bed?

Hello KATOOM,
Does a Short bed require a sliding hitch? It all depends upon what type of driving conditions the driver expects to encounter.
Gentle turns, wide sweeping turns, probably not.
Hard turns, tight spots, more likely.
The sliding hitches allow the king pin in turning situations to be shifted towards the trucks rear bumper which provides added clearance for hard turns when the trailer front corners get closer to the truck cab.
Did the qualified(?) salesperson understand that you had a sliding hitch in your truck? Did he want to direct you to a unit with a greater profit margin for him?
Possibly the best suggestion so far has been to see about hooking up the trailer you like and taking it for a spin. If you can get into a large parking lot try carefully making a tight turn using the slider and find out if, and what clearance you have available to you.
Try talking to another salesperson at that lot to see what they say about you having the short bed.
Good Luck!

RE: No power on main TV in my Newmar 3856

Power at the Slide?
You may need to crawl underneath and inspect the outlet power cable to see if it has been damaged during travel, operation, or by animals.

RE: TV comes on with direct power but not generator?

Hello Bacabunch,
Is the DVD player plugged in to a regular 120V electrical outlet? If so, you indicate that the DVD player will operate when plugged in. Unplug the Television from the outlet and switch the DVD to where the Television was. Will the DVD operate?
Are you attempting to turn the Television on with the remote? Are the batteries in the remote good?
Can you take the Televisiion into the House, plug it in and turn it on?

RE: New Tow Vehicle

As Skip has advised, your truck has "Comfort" passenger tires.
In a quick search I find information indicating that the tire may be a 4-ply with 2-ply sidewalls, or a "B" load rated tire. Depending upon size load capability may be 2355@35 per tire.
As a minimum, replace your rear tires with an appropriate load rated tire adequate for your trailer.
Sorry for the news.

RE: Firestone Ride Rite.

Hello Jtwerm,
Visit the RideRite Website
You need to know the chassis manufacturer for your Leprechaun.
Find the installation manual for your chassis, open it and find the section dealing with inflate and test.
This will basically tell you to maintain a minimum pressure of 5 PSI, to raise and lower pressure in 5 LB increments.

RE: RV Resort in Scottsdale, AZ

Hello RayChez,
Pueblo El Mirage is not located in Scottsdale, rather it is located on the opposite side of Phoenix in the town of El Mirage near Sun City.
Ft. McDowell is by Fountain Hills, but near Scottsdale.
Let's say that the Pueblo and Ft. McDowell facilities are equal in their offerings, Ft. McDowell will be a lot closer.

RE: How is the riding in Parker, Az.?

Hello Eman40000,
Not too familiar with riding locations on the East side of the river, there are riding areas West of the river with lots of RV campgrounds.
Hello Roller183,
Although not prominently presented, the instructions do appear on Page one of their website: The "Nellie E Saloon" is located 5 miles off the Cienega Springs Rd exit on Hwy-95, approximately 5 miles north of Parker, Arizona.

I have possibly had as many problems from vehicles traveling in the opposite direction that maintaining a safer following distance does not eliminate the problem.

RE: Rack Ideas for pop-up

Hello Richard & Liz,
Stop by your local Tent Trailer dealership and see what they offer. There was a rack system that at least fit Colemans with the rounded roof edge like your TC. Four roof post/brackets and two cross rails. Manufactured from sheet metal.

RE: 2nd AC how much do I order?

Hello Jim 4929,
Honestly you are not providing enough information for a truly accurate answer. What is appropriate is going to depend upon the "Rig" you have selected and how/where you are going to be using it.
Basically the larger rig and harsher environment the more you are going to be needing to keep it comfortable.
