RE: square head screws vs phillips head

The reason they are so widely available in Canada but more difficult to get in the US is because the patent is held by a Canadian company. The Robertson company invented and patented the square drive screw. Well doesn't NAFTA include Canada? Send us some more of them screws! I carry about 20,000 of them at any one time in my truck. How many would you like? :B

RE: Anyone ever build a roof deck/patio?

How about something like this? Enclosed sunroom on one end, screened in patio cover on the other. Built on a trailer, tow it around to wherever and watch stuff from inside, out of the weather. Special tint so you can see out perfectly but very hard to see in. http://www.hanover1.net/files/miscfiles/Display.JPG

RE: Motor Home vs Car Traveling Expenses

Well, RV'ing is not always about the cost. Traveling in an RV is an experience. It is a style of life that many people focus their lives around. It is an emotion, a feeling. If all of us analyzed the overall cost of it and did what was cheapest, we would travel in a Greyhound bus and stay at Motel 2.6. If the money is your only consideration, then it is likely cheaper to take the car. But if you want a real travel experience, where you can stop anywhere you want, have your kitchen, bed and bathroom with you wherever you go, and want to encounter true freedom in travel, then get the RV and don't count the pennies. RE: Ontario couple missing--last contact Weslaco UPDATE-OK

There is a photo on facebook but I really don't know how to get it on here. Bob If you right click on the photo, it will bring up a menu. In there you should be able to select "Save Image As" and then save it to your computer. From there, if you have a picture hosting site, you can upload it there and then post it here.

RE: What is best format to capture Hi8 video to digital

Bob have you done any conversion yet how is it working out I started doing some conversions but ran into a lot of grief with the software. I downloaded a couple of tapes, but when I went to review them I found they did not exist on my hard drive. I specified the directory and they were not there. When I did a search of the hard drive using *.mpg, it crashes Windows Explorer every time. I uninstalled the software and reloaded it. Then it would save part of my tape and discard the rest. I finally worked around that and managed to get a file saved but I could not access it. I tried multiple times to transfer the same tape in a number of different ways, but no success. I finally got p'd off and shoved it aside for now. I was using the software that came with the device. EZ Grabber. I was going to find some different capture software but haven't had time to do any research. Aside from that, it's going great!! :B

RE: Transferflow replacement tanks for Duramax

Yeah I checked the site and found the same info. Interesting that it would be different. Unless there is some subtle difference or a change in something under the truck that we don't see. Perhaps a fuel line routed alternately or something. Who knows? I have no idea why they would not be the same.

RE: Transferflow replacement tanks for Duramax

LB7 and LLY is the engine designation. Physically the same but with internal and tuning differences. Body is the same. Should be good to go unless I am missing something. The fuel tank doesn't care what engine it is feeding.

RE: GM build time on HD truck order?

Will you really believe a bunch of anonymous strangers who have nothing to do with GM, rather than the people you bought from?? Huh? How many car salesmen have you dealt with? My experience has, shall we say, been less than positive and it isn't just GM. I would trust people on this forum that have actually placed orders more than anonymous salesmen that don't even seem to comprehend their product line. How can you tell when a salesman is lying? His lips are moving. :B:B

RE: Driving to Cabo from Canada

Moisheh thanks for the input. Somehow, I figured I would run into a snag in the plan. I guess I'll have to let my brother do it without my help.

Driving to Cabo from Canada

My brother bought a house in Cabo and is moving there in March. We live at the west coast of Canada, near Vancouver. There comes the question of a truck full of personal belongings and getting it there. One thought is to rent a big truck, load all his stuff in it and drive there. My thought is to hang my TT off the back and make a holiday out of it. I have not discussed this with my brother. I wanted to do a bit of research first before saying anything to him about helping him move. He may want to just put it all in a container and ship it there. But there are a couple vehicles to drive there too. I have a few concerns: I know that you really have to pay attention to detail and make sure all paperwork, permits and so on is done letter perfect. One concern I have is the route to take and where to cross the border. Where is the safest place to cross and travel? I have read about a lot of the challenges Mexico is facing and recognize that there are some problem areas that need to be avoided and want to be educated before offering to embark on an adventure such as this. And I understand that there is a proper protocol to know and follow when dealing with the border people. I am wondering about travel, two guys alone in a truck making their way to Cabo. Yes, safety is a concern. I am unknowledgeable about a lot of this. If we bring my TT, should we look for specific places to overnight? Can any of you Mexico folks offer some insight and suggestions into this query? Thanks.

RE: RV.net down

I use RV.Net too and couldn't get on this morning. I'm on Woodalls right now too. I'm just glad that if one portal goes down we have multiple other choices to try! :)
