RE: Campground Etiquette - pass-throughs and back-ins

First off, I'm glad you are considerate of others, lots of people are not. You have just as much right to a larger space than you need as anyone. To me its like parking your car in a rv space at the Cracker Barrel when there are several car spaces available. You have just denighed someone that needs the larger space and can't stay there now.

RE: Ford 6.7 debacle just gets crazier

When I worked for Volkswagen years ago as a kid, I thought Bosh parts were the best in the world. Now with all the problems they have and try to ignore as long as possible, I tend to think things have changed at Bosh. Look at the pump problems with VW engines that they ignored for so long and has just been settled in court and how could we forget the Bosh W22 brake failures they claimed for years was the operators fault. I have to believe they are doing the same with Ford as well.

RE: Use shade-tree body shop? or full-blown collision center?

New truck, good paint, You have no need for computer matching just a paint code.

RE: Applying Red Max

Micro fiber sponge and spray bottle. Spray enough on sponge to wet and wipe. No runs this way.

RE: Do not buy

Sounds like you picked someone close to going out of business to sell your trailer. Since they asked you to pick up your trailer, why did you expect them to pay for the move?
Why did you not move it home? I, like many pay money ($96.00 in my case) to have my RV stored since I can not keep it at home.
I can't see how you expect them to pay for your personally caused problem.
You really need to go back and read the OP. Not his trailer, he was hired to do a job. He should also have checked the field before driving out on it and he needs to get his truck fixed if he was getting a dollar a mile, drove 71 miles and used $30.00 in fuel.

RE: New to RVing! Did we get a good set up?

Be sure you have a good trailer brake system installed on the MH.

RE: 5th wheel trial .. more advice needed

I did the same thing you are thinking of. No regrets.
Could you please tell me about your experience? What did you learn from it? What did you select? How long did you keep it?
I got a chance to get rid of the 04 Pace Arrow so I sold it while I could. I found a 03 Fleetwood Pride at a steal so I bought it. The wife threatened the D word if we stopped camping.
Both the A and the 5er were 37ft, 3 slide units so we were not going from big to small so the comparisons would be equal. I missed the DW being able to use the BR going down the road but its not that big of a deal. We now keep a cooler in the back seat of the truck so we have our snacks. I have more inside room and storage with the 5er than the mh, towing is no problem with better fuel milage and just one running gear to service. To me the 5er has a more homey feel. It takes me a few more minutes to set up because of the leveling but not a big deal either. I am going to add the leveling system so this point will be mute as well. I tow with a F250 crew cab and love the extra room over the toads I have had. Upkeep and expenses or next to nothing compared to the MH.
MH tag and taxes $1100.00 yr. 5er $35.00
MH Insurance $1200.00 yr 5er $300.00
I don't count the truck because I had it for my business and it is a wash with the toad.
We had the MH for 6 years. We have had the 5er for 2 years now. I don't see going back to a mh. The biggest thing I miss about the mh is being able to tow one of our classic cars on a trailer behind it.
If you have any other questions feel free to pm me or just ask here.
Hope I have helped.

RE: Chattanooga Campgrounds

Racoon Mountain is not bad. Nice view of the mountains and they have a pool and a huge cave on site. Very close in to Chattanooga and a nice drive in theater.

RE: Love my brand-new progressive-lens bifocals!

I just got mine last week and I hate them. I thik they got my prescription wrong. When I look straight ahead everything is still just as blured, just bigger. Taking them back this week.

RE: Half tons.... Let's talk about downhill grades

You should have no problem towing within your weight specs as long as you know how to handle it and it sounds like you do. I do prefer a 3/4 ton truck for towing my car trailer just because of the bigger size and larger brakes. I just hate any kind of sway.

RE: Ford survey

Bought it with 77K on it. Had egr, coolers, head gaskets replace @ 88K I believe. Problem was caused by previous owner adding a chip and wrong antifreeze. Replaced 1 turbo hose that should have been done with head gaskets. All paid for by Ford. 112K now and runs great. Do my own maint.

I called Lippert and they will not sell me a system over the counter. Installed is the only way. $4800 bucks. I also checked local rv shop and they want $4500 for hwh over the counter.

RE: "Shine-On" Clear Coat

Sounds like Red Max Pro rebottled.
Do a search on RMP3 or Red Max Pro 3 and see!
I bet RMP# is much cheaper at $5.95 a gallon.
Bill
Where did you find it for that price? Every where i have seen its $15.00.
