RE: Truck camper for shortbed

Bigfoot makes a nice camper with a shower made for shortbox trucks, it called the 1500 series.
But whatever you are looking at remember, to be happy, go got to go light on a 1/2 ton truck.

RE: Bigfoot mounted on new truck

Hi Bigfoot Affair:
I see you had 245/70/19.5 tires on your last truck. When I added 19.5's to my to my 2011 Chevy I didn't know if the 245's would fit on the front so I only added 225's.
Do you think your 245's will fit on the front of your new truck?

Its not like rum and coke, cell phones and driving don't mix.
Sorry to hear about your accident.

RE: Only 11 days before heading north to Alaska

I am hoping to send information daily. please feel free to make suggestions on where to go and what to see. We are planning to take our time and enjoy. After all that's what retirement is all about.
But my youngest daughter did tell me to get my butt home in time for her to make it to university. I told her I would try, but just in case I will leave her money for the plane.

RE: First camping trip in the new Lance camper

Great pics, last year I had my 2 year grand daughter for a week in the camper. She loved it.
Thanks a lot for sharing. Any inside camper pics. Always thinking about a slide.

RE: Dumb Question . . . Stableloads

On my Chevy the stable loads only engage when weight is added. I cannot say enough about my stable loads. They work great. Air bags are a thing of the past.

RE: CHOOSING A CAMPER FOR A "HEAVY DUTY" FORD F 150

The best message is always " Go Light and Be Happy ".
A camper with a total dry weight of no more than 1400 lbs should keep that Ford running for years to come.
But you can always go heavier and hold the sterring wheel tighter.
I always remember the first time I truly believed I was overweight. My wife told me she didn't like the way the truck handled from the passenger seat. That got me thinking!

RE: should I use bumper mounted tie downs?

For less than $250.00 you can have a frame mounted no drill tie-down with Torklift rear tie-downs. Tweetys.com has them free shipping right now. If you mess up your bumper it will cost allot more than that.
X2, That's exactly what I was thinking as I read this post.

Only 11 days before heading north to Alaska

Today, I changed the oil in the truck, put 19.5 tires and rims back on truck, loaded camper on truck.
Tonight checked the weather in Alaska.
I cannot wait until June 1st to get going on hopefully a 3 months trip across Canada, and then north to NWT, Yukon, and Alaska.
Tomorrow everything has to be cleaned and packed.

You have made an excellent choice. You are going to love your new truck as much as your camper now.

RE: Best truck to haul a triple slide Eagle Cap 1165?

Ford or Chevy 550 or 5500. Buy big enough so you don't make a mistake.

RE: front trailer hitch

I have no doubt you can get a trailer hitch that will work, but I wonder if having 500 lbs on the front end bouncing around is a good idea with a truck camper in the box.

RE: A Tale of 2 Bigfoot Campers

I have had my 2009 BigFoot 2500 camper since new. Had it on a 2500 Chevy crew cab Diesel also. Fully loaded I was over loaded on the rear tires.
Today I have a 3500 Chevy SRW and the truck handles the weight great.
I am very please with my Bigfoot Camper.
Taking it to Alaska in 15 days.
I cannot wait to get going.
