RE: Fuel in Teslin, YT

Sue I have fueled there up and back for 5 years in a row and this is the first discount I have received, maybe it is just me. No you do not have to stay at RV park to get discount. Anyway stop don't stop just passing it along.

Fuel in Teslin, YT

I stopped like I always do on my way back to AK in Teslin, YT at Yukon Motel and RV Park just north of bridge on right. This year they are giving you .04 cents off a litre (.18 a gallon) gas or diesel and like most years I have fueled there they are cheaper than Whitehorse. Just thought I would pass it along since every penny on fuel will count for most this year. Road up is in good shape, sitting in Homer watching a few Eagles and few rain drops.

RE: New Good Sam Cards have no exp date?

Posted By: mlemonis on 03/19/12 05:22am Based on all the feedback we will re instate the expire dates starting next year. We just issued new cards and they are all good for the balance of the year. This is a good example of getting positive feedback. My team has been pushing this issue and they are right and I was wrong. ML Thank you !

RE: SQUEAK IN 2006 NEWMAR VENTANA MAIN SLIDEOUT

Our main slide D/S does the same thing every once in while. Yes even at factory they were no help, i checked, they checked, nothing is rubbing. So we listen to when it happens but I know longer worry about.

RE: Aqua Hot Fan/Heat Exchanger noise.

our front (under dash) one is the only one that was loud form day one, then it got louder and quit. When I replaced the motor, I re routed the ducted work, and replaced the mounting bushings and now there is the front is just a little louder than others. The front has a bigger motor than the other locations so of course that is part of reason.

RE: Free parking in Alaska!

Might get better results in Workcamping forum but most schools in AK have a volunteer program as does AK state parks Both great programs if they work into your schedule and what you desire to do this summer in AK

RE: antifreeze question for diesel pusher

When you change out antifreeze from the stuff you have to check and add to , to the new type, do you have to change any snesors or flash EMC on cummins ?

RE: What problem go along with a Tag axle?

Cons: Must buy two extra tires. Must remove pressure from tag (or lift) for tight turns while parking. Slightly higher tolls. Pros: Better ride. Better braking. More stable. Able to carry more weight. Decreases distance from rearmost axle to rear bumper which increases angles navagated without bottoming out. Increases length of the driveshaft (transmission to rear end distance)reducing the acute angle during high chassis height maneuvers or low bottom-out events. This nearly eliminates premature ā€œUā€ joint failure or shaft seal damage caused by excessive drive line angle. No difference in license for private owners of motorhomes in most all states. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rich D. Wanderlodge M450 LXi x 2

RE: New Good Sam Cards have no exp date?

Thank you for taking time to respond. I think most GS members assume the campgroud gets the 10% discount back or a portion there of, that is not the case. Ad cost go up, more benefits for members, and more is put on campgrounds. As to cost or issue with checking dates on cards. It the time the process takes when you have 3 or 4 people waiting ot check in. Of course we could just offer 10% to everyone, but that effects campgrounds and members. Members should be happy and relieved to see campgrounds asking ot see cards and checking to make sure they are valid. After all if they are not, they are getting the same 10% discount you paid to get. Glad it is saving the big guys lots of money, after all that is the way our country works no a days.

RE: Newmar Tiffin or Winnegabo

First not to step on toes but lets be honest Winnebago is not even in same group as Newmar or Tiffin. AGM batteries can be put anywhere including underbed. If you have a coach built for you, you can have bigger holding tanks. Fiberglass roofs are not standard on all coaches. Newmar yes Most Newmar coaches come pre wired for solar and not not the trickle charge solar panel, most a pre wired to the roof for after market solar. Hope this helps a little

RE: License for what state ? for full time RVers

You no longer need a SD address to register your vehicles in SD. Go to SD DMV website, you can read all about being a Nomad I think is term they use. We closed our SD mail box over 2 years ago. Renew everything over net or phone. Like all things here everyone is different, so what works legally for us may not for others.

New Good Sam Cards have no exp date?

From campground owners point of view why do the new GS membership cards not have expiration dates any longer? I understand it will save money for GS, but to make campgrounds check dates, or they should be check dates. Why put that off on the campground staff? I understand if they have new card this year it is valid, what about going forward?

RE: Good Sam Insurance Costs

To answer OP question, ours has gone up every year for past 3 years. We are up in May and unless there is big drop in our rates we will no longer use GS for our insurance. We are full timers, never had claim, so our insurance should not go up every year. When we renewed in OCT we ask why our insurance continues go up yearly, why they do not give discount since we have been with them over 5 years. Basicly told you can check other places. No accidents, no claims, no tickets.
