RE: Fresh Water Tank Question

I can understand filling it too fast, but why would they install the vent on the side of the tank and not on top? Then install the senser above the vent line. It seems like a bad design or again I'm missing something. :hThanks Good question. I wonder that myself as my vent hose gets filled with water all the time. I fill about an inch below it but when I tow the trailer, the water gets in the tube and makes it impossible to fill the tank. I have to remove the tube and blow it out.
