RE: New TT. What Basics Do I Need?

Plenty of TP and diapers. Don't buy the RV TP. Buy Scotts single ply 1000 sheet or similar. Go with the Rino sewer hose available at WalMart. Take a look at the RV section in WalMart, usually back by the sporting goods area. Most stores carry a good variety of the "basic" essentials. Look for a water hose pressure regulator to ensure you limit inflow to 40psi. On top of everything welcome to the forum and enjoy your new toy.

RE: New to Forums with a parts question

In lieu of a plastic replacement, maybe you could locate a local metal shop that could fabricate a new one from sheet metal. Might be cheaper than trying to find and install a 20+ yeear old piece of brittle plastic. Just a thought.

RE: tube out of the back of the refrigerator

Look carefully. It is actually a screen to prevent dirt and bugs from entering. http://ww.rvadenver.com/refrig20.gif Yes, it is a drain. Always make sure it is pushed into the vent hole in the cover so the water won't drain down inside the access hole.

RE: Homesick for the sunshine!

Head south? Any further south and I will have to learn Spanish! Been in the pool every evening for the past week now. Should have triple digits this weekend. Get on down here! :B

RE: Water in FW tank sitting for 3 weeks -- dump and sanitize?

Also, I think some of you germaphobics would die if you saw the inside of your water lines that your "pristine" city water flows through. Replace a water line or even a faucet some time and take a look at what's inside. Some have to be replaced just "because" of the build up of junk/gunk. :E

RE: Water in FW tank sitting for 3 weeks -- dump and sanitize?

Been RVing for ten years and have yet to dump and refill, sanitize or otherwise do anything but fill with FW and go. Sometimes the coach can sit for several months during summer or winter. We fill from a local rural co-op well that has been treated and other times from whatever park or campground we happen to be at when we need to refill. No issues with health or illness in ten years. In fact I just refilled last weekend from the garden hose for a planned trip in July. Just wanted to make sure there was some water available if needed before hand.

RE: Yellowstone Park Visit

Check out a map of Yellowstone. Find Grand Loop Road. It is a large loops that encircles most of the park. Following that road will take you to most of the "touristy" stuff in Yellowstone. Norris Canyon Road divides the Grand Loop into a north and south loop. We took three days and visited most of the things that we wanted to see and pretty much stayed on these two roads. There are a couple of side loop roads that provide some additional views such as Firehole Lake and Fountain Flats, both of which provide some awesome sights. Check out the Yellowstone NPS web page for some additional ideas.

RE: Grabbing a Quote

I know how to use the "Quote", but it quotes the whole messege. How do I just "grab" a portion of the messege, to use? Did I make that clear enough? :h How do I just "grab" a portion of the messege, to use? :h Easiest way is to grab the quote and remove what you don't want in the editor. Make sure you don't delete any of the bracketed portion.

RE: Crossing into Canada and saving the Vegetables

Wait until you come back into the US. They took about 8 lbs of fresh meat from us including frozen hotdogs when we came back into ND a few years ago.

RE: life member

Obviously they haven't checked with the Mayans. It all ends this December. :B Now the next question. Why doesn't my "Life Member" logo show up on the left side of the screen. I've got mine!!:B Now I feel slighted. :( My account shows: "Membership Level: Lifetime Sign Up Date: Jul 01, 2002 Expiration Date: Never"

RE: First Time Out... what to do

You might also try just camping in your driveway if your HOA allows. This gives you a chance to see what extras you may need or forgot and allows you to do some minor fixes with your tools readily available. Try to avoid any temptations to use the stick and brick house during your "camping trip".

RE: Do you travel wet or dry?

I prefer dry. Wet is uncomfortable and causes chaffing. :B I know you are referring to a TC but we still drain the black and grey just to eliminate carrying around the extra waste and weight. FW is usually 1/2 to full depending on length of trip to next stop.

RE: What is this electrical device?

Sounds like an old night light similar to something my folks had way back when. OK, Off Pavement wins. I plugged it in and it gives of a nice soft yellow glow. Looks like some kind of promotion for the NV Power and Light company with their logo on the front. Still in the original sealed baggie. I guess it could also be considered a circuit tester -- if it lights there is power. :) Also checked several numbers on the back in Google but nothing came up. On edit: Found it! Searched "yellow promotional night light" http://www.oneinhundred.com/Upfiles/upimg0/Round-night-light--Neon-bulb-g-4875410.jpg

RE: What is this electrical device?

is there any numbers on the device at all... type those into google and it will probably find something about it. Yeah, I did see some printing on the top. Will have to look again tonight.

I did find this one and it looks like it should work well! http://www.bookofjoe.com/images/2008/06/13/uipiuiui.jpg height=300 width=444 BTW, that's a 220 socket! :O

RE: What is this electrical device?

No..you take the picture! ! I knew what you meant but I don't have it with me right now. When I get home I will probably forget about it. If I do take a picture will have to post it somewhere and then move it over to RV.net. Usually much simpler to find it on the net somewhere. Of course once I find it on the net I will probably know what it is. :)
