RE: Biggest New 5er behind my '06 Dodge 2500?

X2 nlscooby The only difference between 2500 and 3500 is the overload and the "3" :) Dusty, With all due respect, you are incorrect here. I have owned several Dodge Cummins trucks (both 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks). My truck was available as a 3/4 ton and 1 ton version with (literally) the ONLY difference being the rear overload springs (oh, and the "3" instead of the "2" just before the _500 on the door!) Perhaps you are thinking of 1/2 ton trucks versus 3/4 ton and 1 tons? 1/2 tons are quite different!

RE: Biggest New 5er behind my '06 Dodge 2500?

Over on your GVWR... Probly close, but how about the GAWR? I am over about 400lbs on my GVWR, but not even close on my GAWR... something to think about.

RE: Another truck test 3/4 ton

Chevy's cabin trim is a shame. Every single time I look at the interior of a ford or dodge I get an urge to trade in my chevy.I agree the GM interior is rather plain (but still functional). Remember these trucks were developed while GM was going thru bankruptcy. They only had so much money to spend. They chose to spend it on chassis and drive-train this time around. Having got that sorted I suggest you will see major interior improvements in the next model. Wasn't Dodge in the same boat as GM, at the time?

RE: Question - stay with BFG All Terrain or go Michelin . . .

I think the BFG All Terrains and the Michelins are two different animals. I think a good comparison for the Michelins would be the BFG Rugged Trails. I have had All Terrains and Rugged Trails for towing and the All Terrains simply didn't handle the load. I have towed with Michelins with a family members truck, and found them to be basically the same as the Rugged Trails. Longevity, handling and fuel economy is much better with the LTX's and the Rugged Trails, but the All Terrains are a nice looking tire! I'm on my second set of Rugged Trails, they worked flawlessly and weren't as expensive as the LTX's. But to each their own too!

RE: A GIANT awaits...what's your guess

Ok, I'll bite for the "Thousands of dollars in prizes to be awarded to the person(s) who guess right!" My vote goes to: RAM 1500 with a Cummins V-8.

RE: For you Ram diesel fans

I didn't read thru the all of the article links but what's the big deal.......I've done that route pulling a 14K 5'vr with my 3500 RAM SRW and not once did I say to myself "Man, wish I had more truck". The LongHauler has an exceptionally large fuel tank. That extra piece of body between the cab and the box is where the oversized fuel cell is located.

RE: Well we went and did it..

We had the cylinder management Hemi without the variable valves in our 07 Aspen, if you used the go pedal in any way, it was a hog, if you kept your foot off, it was ok. This new cylinder management with variable valves on the 2010 is way more forgiving. An easy 20mpg city/Hwy can be achieved, even with stomping on the go pedal here an there. With 60 000kms on our truck, on the highway our best has been 23mpg, the combined milage and DTE on that tank was 968km! (121L tank) I was in total disbelief that day till the hand calculated numbers confirmed it. Good luck with yours Dreeder!

RE: Well we went and did it..

I hope someone chime's in because I am curious as well. I honestly don't have anything to compare it to, this is my first automatic that I have had in my Ram's and I have only put 20 miles on our new one and that was driving it home from the dealer last night. The one thing I seemed to notice was that it seemed to fall flat/hunt for gear's in the 55 mph range. Congrats on the new RAM and Avenger! Could it be the ECO mode? Our 2010 Hemi sounds "different" in certain situations when it's running in 4cyl mode, sounding flat, or right on the verge of coasting and using some power? Kinda hard to explain. My 48RE in my 07 will hunt at 80km/hr. It can be a pain in traffic, I sometimes lockout OD if traffic is pacing at 75-80km/hr.

RE: Exhaust Brake On While Not Towing?

I have a 5.9l with the older model brake after the turbo. Mine is always on... Seems like the shift points re a bit different maybe , but I love the fact that my service brakes are still in great shape after 94k... Bryan Times two on the brake pad life, I have almost 100,000 miles on the original pads, and looks like half the pad is still there. I actually found it a bit annoying to have the brake activate every time I let off the throtte. Sam X3 My 5.9 turned 5 years old on Valentines day, still on original brakes, not even a goove at the edge of the rotor yet.

RE: Over rear GAWR?

I think the more important question is... Can you get mirror extensions as wide as that trailer?

RE: My new ram 3500 longhorn !!

Congrats on the new RAM!! I love every detail on the interior, Love the new exterior colors too, but I'm not sold on the giant "Buckles" on the doors, don't get me wrong, I like my silver belt buckles, I just don't know if that was the way to go on the LongHorn trucks....IMO...... Beautiful Truck. Congrats.

RE: Diesel coolant in Emergency

Piece of mind.... change it. I had a Dealer repair a coolant hose on my 5.9 under warranty 2yrs ago, they put the wrong coolant in, and my water pump met a premature failure (IMO), as well, my radiator was full of "gunk", I suspect a product of combining the wrong coolant... That is a dealer I won't return to or recommend.

RE: New 2014 Chevy/GMC

I hate to say it, but GM ALWAYS shows us the nice lookin' version as a prototype, and then drops the ball and puts something cheezy on the market.

RE: Jake brake not working on 5.9 07 Dodge

Run it back to the dealer that did the work on the seal, state that it worked before and see what they say, you got nothing to lose. If it is a failure, then they will show you the problem:)

RE: 2008 Dodge Ram Diesel for $10k

If the 'gentleman' did get that truck for $10k he took advantage of the woman who had no idea of trucks market value and he KNEW he was taking advantage of her.....that makes him NO gentleman. Karma will catch up with him........ Yep,pretty much a thief. I couldn't sleep at night knowing I screwed someone in a deal like that. X3... not right at all.

RE: Why park right next to me?

How's this for close.... I guy walking so close behind me, sneezes, and I actually feel his mucus hit my neck.... Does he have a right to be directly behind me? YES... Is it considerate? Have you noticed these same people crowd up behind you at the store cashier? Trying to pay with your debit or credit card and you bump the guy behind you when you get your wallet out.

RE: Why park right next to me?

Thankyou Jeannie. If you want that site, and the unobstructed view, buy it, and the 30 acres all around it. Until then, it's not your site, and neither is the view. Sorry, The guy next to you has the same right to be where he is as you do. Yes he does have the right but it was inconsiderate if other sites were available. Just as in a movie theater, I have the right to sit right in front of other people but it would be inconsiderate if there were plenty of other seats available.

RE: Awning fabric stretched from water on it.........

The previous owners of our 5th wheel musta let water accumulate in our awning too, my aluminum bar is slightly bent as well. I think if I reposition the tube so that the arc is outward, rather than inward, the awning will tighten ever so slightly and the vinyl would taught. I could see that if the bar was too far gone, that it would damage the awning even more so. If I remember right, I think you can buy just the bar, it seemed like I could buy pretty much any piece of the awning when I replaced our vinyl, worth checking into if the awning is pooched beyond acceptable limits.

RE: I am saying!

SOME people in society today are getting less and less acountable for their actions. To me, your a failure if you can't stand up and own what you say/do... and I'm not just sayin'... I'm sayin.
