RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Vince...I liked that BBQed Possum you guys made last year...delicious! My only suggestion would be, find a fresher road kill this year. I thought you had hammered that to wafer thin consistency..didnt realize it was a week old kill. Still good, mind you! :B

RE: SPAMalicious Recipes Wanted!

As you probably already know, Spam is a favorite staple in Hawaii! We're alot like you....camping/RV'ing seems to lend itself to be "spamaholics"....I certainly enjoy it mostly at breakfast with eggs/toast/hash browns..whatever. Ive been known to have Spam/cheese burritos.

RE: Pet Business - Venting

Sorry, I missed the part that they picked up......My solution would have been to have a chat with the parties involved and that "dog" deposits werent welcomed on your Patio!

RE: Pet Business - Venting

Your venting about this here serves one purpose...thats to inflame all those that already "hate" dogs in general. I dont disagree with what your saying because any of us who love our animals have seen the "packages" left behind by irresponsible pet owners. I will say this, we all deal with this in a number of different ways...we spent New Years in an RV Park where they have specific areas to walk your dogs...since we have four "little bundles of Joy", we took it upon ourselves to PICK UP any left over packages left by previous visitors. We did this for three reasons.....(1) to be the responsible pet owners that we are (2) To not get blamed for others carelessness and (3)because it was the right thing to do. Now, does that mean we go looking for the extra excrement...NO, but if its right in front of us and there's the slightest possibility our "girls" could be held accountable...then its a No brainer. Continue to Vent and my Rant is off! :B

Collar lights

Hi Some months ago, I had a "Link" to a light that attached to a dog collar and no matter how much I search now, I cant seem to find the exact one I had previously looked at. It claimed to be the most efficient light available, it didnt slip all over the place, put the light directly in front of your dog and illuminated enough area to be effective. Ive seen all the foo-foo ones in my search but this particular brand was sort of diamond shaped and fairly bright. Since my wife is the person who normally does the late night "business" walks, instead of her outfitting herself with flashlights and headband lights, I thought the "girls" could help with their own lighting. Oh..as I recall, theses lights were rechargable. Sorry for being sooo long winded!

RE: WEB sites and Revenue?

I should make this clear, I dont have any interest in doing this but I asked this just to understand this point.....someone spends the time and effort to maintain an informative personal Site and they feature active Links to specific companies, they may even have Pop up advertising yet they claim that there is NO way they are commerical in nature. Im wondering at what point does a WEB site become commerical? Is there a set point? a set of circumstances? a number of hits? a number of ad's? To be sure, I dont care if someone does make money from a Site....it does peek my interest when someone screames the non commerical banner yet the ad's, the link's, the special favors from companies represented are either pasted all over their Sites or active Links are in every other sentence.

RE: What are States known for?

I thought your first post was about loading up the RV for a month of Travel? I think you got a good consenus, that that wasnt such a good idea. Having just traveled cross country last Sept/Oct....WalMart is your friend not only for overnighting(which Ive never done) but also for your basic food group needs. Quite frankly, I searched them out when we needed basics because most of them have amply parking for RV's. Local fruits and vegetales can be found in most any small town as long as you get off the interstate and travel the highways instead(or at least for a short distances). Have a Great Time either way.

RE: WEB sites and Revenue?

WEB sites and Revenue?

I know this might come as a shock(the shock is that I dont know!) to some but How does this all work? I guess I can ask it this way, if someone has a WEB site(a personal one thats RV related) and this person's WEB site has Links to Companies and also may or may not have advertising on such WEB site, does this site generate revenue simply by the number of visits to that site. The reason that Im interested is that I see some "people" have personal WEB sites that have lots of info related to RV's and they will direct you to their WEB site rather than answer a question outright. I assume that is to generate more hits? If so, what kind of revenue are we talking about? Dont worry....its not someone on this Forum that Im referring to but others somewhere else. Just looking for a basic idea in WEB site 101?

RE: Lake Tahoe area CGs

If you dont need hook-ups, my vote goes to Fallen Leaf (NFSCG)....they have sites that will more than handle your size rig, the location is woodsy and I believe they've added showers to their restrooms since last time I was there(a few years ago). Not sure about your time frame though but worth a check.

RE: Spoon down the toilet

Whenever I read about something going down the toilet it reminds me of that guy in the rural campground poking down into the "Andy Gump"...I saw this and asked, "what the heck are you doing"? His reply was that his jacket had fallen in the hole...I kinda chuckled and told him to forget about it, his jacket wasnt worth saving! He turned and said to me in a rather serious TONE.....I dont care about the jacket, MY LUNCH was in the pocket! I know, thats a pretty old one, but its all I got! :B

RE: HELP POWER ISSUE!! AND ITS COLD

I was going to say the Inverter too(if your RV has one)...I know that even though my MH is a 50amp unit, the inverter has only a 30 amp pass through and if you overload the outlets that are on the Inverter, you will trip those resettable breakers on it. Ive done it a couple of times myself when running a couple of electric heaters, an electric coffee pot plus the Micro-wave.

RE: Do you really love your Dog? Good food vs cheap food.

Thank you for your insight into what you feed your Doggies. I, for one, am always interested in giving my "kids" the best chance for a long life. A couple of years ago I posted something very similiar regarding the Food vs Cancer debate. As indicated, there are many rankings of dog foods by different agencies. We attempt to feed our girls the most healthy diet we can and Hope for the best. My decisions are based solely on my selfishness...I want my "girls" around for as long as humanly possible and I want to know that I did everything in my power to make their lives Long, Healthy and Happy.
