RE: Most College Football Fans?

Penn State is a HUGE school with a lot of non-alum fans in addition to a huge alumni base. I am sure OSU and Michigan are similar. One out of every 8 Pennsylvanians has taken at least one course at PSU.

RE: Wind

I JUST got a call from the campground. They are going to send out a credit letter after the storm so that we can reschedule. I wish they would have just been reasonable when i called earlier in the week.

Finally, Cape May county is sounding the alarm. Still not flexibility from the campground.

I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt abd assume she is just ignorant. I will call once the warning go up. Accuweather is currently only showing gusts uo to 112mph on Sunday in Cape may. I only live 100 miles away and will be tending to my own stick home(manning the pumps)

Not to be contrary, but I stand by my statement that the jersey crowd is a little complacent. The Halloween Storm of 1991 aka the Perfect Storm was close, but still not a hurricane with the associated surge and wide spread devastation. Picture 20ft surf and a 6ft surge rolling into Long Port, Nj. It is not pretty in a place where the winter storms remove houses each year.

RE: Wind

Neither of those storms made landfall in Jersey. Hazel went into North Caralina and Donna hit long island and cape cod.

RE: Wind

NJ has not had a hurrican make an actual landfall since 1902 and that was a cat 1. I doubt they have any mandatory evacuations. The Jersey shore is really just a sand bar with houses on it. I rather be in the tropics on a coral island than on a sandbar during a storm.

Don't worry, I will not be going, but I think they should allow me to reschedule at the very least. They won't let you reschedule because the CG may NOT be there after the storm.....:E:E:E:E.....Dennis The management is know for being difficult and I did not want to have a pointless argument. The CG will be there, but it is likely to be seriously flooded and not have power or clean water for a week or so if they were to get a serious hit. I would also be afraid of the trees coming down. \ This is taken from the Cape May County Emergency Management Web Page. Highlights of National Weather Service Forecast valid August 24, 2011 as of 7 a.m. Hurricane Irene • Hurricane Irene is currently a Category 2 hurricane located in the Turks and Caicos Islands. It is expected to strengthen to a Category 3 hurricane today. • Irene is forecast to impact our area on Saturday and Sunday. The 5am forecast has the eye tracking about 60 miles off of the New Jersey coast as a Category 1 storm. • It is still too early to determine the exact impact of storm surge and winds due to the error potential of the 4 day track. NWS is advising Tropical Storm conditions are possible along the coast with the potential for squally weather, coastal flooding, strong winds and rip currents. • From now through the end of Irene, there is the potential for 5 to 12 inches of rain depending on the track Irene takes. 2+ inches could fall on Thursday, another 1 to 2 inches could fall on Friday night and Saturday prior to Irene arriving. See the attached 5-day precipitation map for forecast locations. Note the sharp cutoff in precipitation on the western side of the storm. The final track will be critical in determining which areas receive heavy rain. • Given how wet the ground is there is a high risk of major flooding. If Irene tracks more to the east we reduce the threat of inland heavy rainfall and flooding but enhances the threat of strong winds and coastal flooding. • We are approaching the new moon on Sunday August 28. This means any ‘normal’ high tides will be running higher, worsening the potential for coastal flooding. • The National Hurricane Center advises not to focus on the exact forecast track, especially at days 4 and 5 since the most recent 5-year average errors at those forecast times are 200 and 250 miles respectively. The 4 day error cone extends as far west as Harpers Ferry, WV and as far east as 200 miles offshore. See the attached map for details. • The National Hurricane Center issues forecasts four times a day: 5am, 11am, 5pm, and 11pm. As Irene approaches land, the NHC will issue positional updates of the storm three hours after each forecast (i.e. 8am, 2pm, 8pm, 2am) until Irene makes landfall Thursday. • A cold front will move through the state on Thursday afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rains are forecast. It is anticipated that 2+ inches of rain will fall. Flash flooding will be a concern, expect flood statements from the weather service as we get closer to the event. The front is forecast to stall over our area on Friday and could produce 2 inches of rain Friday night into Saturday morning. In otherwords, LETS GO CAMPING!

I have very expensive, prepaid reservation in Cape may, NJ f ...and I have a very expensive motorhome and toad. I'd do what I had to to to protect my rig first then I'd take up any disputed reservation charges with my credit card company later. Come on, even the airlines let you cancel in a hurricane. Arguing with a guest about not wanting to come in on a hurricane watch is absurd. I am way ahead of you on that one.

RE: Wind

I have very expensive, prepaid reservation in Cape may, NJ for this weekend and they will not even allow me to reschedule. They stated that they do not allow cancelations due to weather. The person on the phone then went on to tell me that she had ridden out every storm since she was born and that they make a big deal out of the weather here for no good reason. I am not concerned about my HR weathering out the storm, I just this it is rediculous to encourage people to come to your campground with a forecast of 40mph winds gusting to 79mph and multiple inches of rain and a likelyhood of flooding. Thats assuming the storm stays out to sea a little. If it gets a little further west, all bets are off. I am tired of people from the Jersey Shore being so complacent. I wason Martha's Vineyard for Hurricane Bob in 1991. That was the real deal! jersey has not been hit since 1902. Don't worry, I will not be going, but I think they should allow me to reschedule at the very least.

RE: New Tires for 1997 F53 with tag

you are a good advertisement for tire pressure monitoring systems Yeah, it makes me wonder if I even need dual tires on that axel. I noticed nothing. The tire has a 12 inch x 8 inch hole in it. The coach was just as stable and smooth. No vibrations, or noise. I might have seen some smoke in the rear camera at one point, but it was raining so I am not sure it is was smoke. Anyway, it is amazing how little the ride changed with one fewer tire.

I had a similar booboo repaired for about 75$. The guy replaced the molding with a new one.

How about BFG All Season Commercial T/A? That was recommended by my tire guy.

RE: New Tires for 1997 F53 with tag

I am concerned about the warning on the XPS RIB that they are not meant to be driven in near or below freezing temperatures. We occasionally get caught coming back from Florida in snow and ice. We also tailgate at almost every Penn State game and it frequently conld and or snowy on late season weekends.

New Tires for 1997 F53 with tag

Today, I decked a large metal part on I95 in southern Connecticut. I guess it blew out my rear outer tire. A nice couple in a class A flagged us down on 278s in New Jersey and let us know we had a flat. I did not feel anything wrong. I changed the tire in a parking lot by myself. The spare is probably original. My question is what is the best tire for my rig. I have 235 85 16 e rated firestones on it right now. They are about 7 years old, but look new. I intend to replace the tire with the 6 inch hole in it as well as the inner that was run overloaded for 50 miles. I will put the new tires on the front and move my current fronts back. I realize that 7 years is pushing it for tires and I will replace the other 6 soon. I am just unsure of what tire to use. Firestone no longer makes the tire that was ruined.
