RE: F53 ENGINE COOLANT RECOVERY TANK

Ford parts are very expensive.......I paid $45 for each of the two radiator hoses for my F53 chassis.......Since they were only available at the dealer......what other choice did I have?
What I would do with a new coolant tank is to put a strip of masking tape down the side of it and then paint the whole tank with white paint......when dry, then remove the masking tape.......this will make the tank more or less UV protected.....

Anyone have experience with temperature alerts over wifi?

I am wondering if there is an affordable temperature monitor system out there that works over an existing home wifi network that will send you an email or work with a mobile app in the event of an over or under temperature setting?
What I am really wanting to do is stick a sensor in my Motorhomes refrigerator.......and have it email me if the power goes out and the refer starts to warm up or where to experience a system failure......
What systems have you folks worked with?

RE: What brand f53 fuel pump to buy for replacement..

TIM THANKS..I was thinking to go thru the floor under bed for my access to change out the pump.Is the pump in center of gas tank on top???
Does your Motorhome have basement storage?.........are your tanks between the floors?
In my case.......I would have had to go through the black tank to do what you are proposing.......:E

RE: 4g cell+micro hdmi cable+tv+slingbox= ???

If you Slingbox your home DirecTV DVR to your RV, how do you change channels or can you? Can you record and watch recorded programs from your DVR?
First off.........I don't know if you can use a sling box on a Direct TV DVR....I know Sling is owned by Dish Network......again, I'm not saying you can not......I am saying......I don't know......since I have Dish Network.....
you can change channels of the DVR using the menu that is provided on the phone.......yes, you can watch programs that are on the DVR or live TV....and you can record programs to the DVR using the software that is in the sling APP......
A couple of weeks ago on a Friday night, after we arrived at our campground...I watched an hour long episode of Gold Rush Alaska that was recorded on my DVR at home...after I crawled into bed that night...I propped the phone up on my nightstand and used my bluetooth earphones for the sound.....very cool!:B

RE: Ladder vs. window awning

..I'd be afraid a window awning or shade on the back of an RV, due to the major vacuum/'suction' back there when on the road, would be prone to billowing out and getting torn up. I always figured that was why you never see window awnings on rear windows. I could be totally wrong on that one, though.
My parents have an awning on the back of their motorhome......the ladder is on one side and the window is on the other......their motorhome is a 1999 model and the awning was put on when new......they've been to Alaska in it and to the east coast several times from California.....never once has it billowed out while being driven......
I would love to have one on the back of mine but like the OP...the ladder is in the way.......but, I'm not interested in reworking the ladder......

RE: 4g cell+micro hdmi cable+tv+slingbox= ???

It would seem to me that the weak link would be either the cellular service in a remote campground, or WiFi network bandwidth overloaded in a, RV park/campground. I know that every campground we stayed at this summer except for one had poor WiFi coverage and only one had marginal cell service for us (Sprint).
There is no Wifi involved in what the OP is wanting to do.... only cell service......if you are in a 4g area......it works great!
