RE: Sewer line question.....kind of (picture added)

From experience with a small Holidaire trailer long time ago I can tell you that a garden hose as a drain is going to give you a lot of grief, because the small solids particles that get washed down the sink will plug the hose. The hose connector has a smaller dia. than the hose.
I solved the problem by hanging a standard sewer hose from the drain connection outside the trailer. Just ahead of the sewer drain point you need to use a block of wood to build a trap to prevent the sewer gasses from escaping.
Solved my problem.
Good luck with whatever will work for you.

RE: Okanagan Eclipse 26RLS

Their old website still exists.
Go to www.okanaganrv.com and click on Construction. You can get all the construction details, specifically look at the floor to wall details. I have a 23ft OK trailer, 1997. That was before they changed to the name Eclipse. The floor construction is very rigid, none of the flexing in so many trailers with the 5/8" plywood floor. I am still very happy with mine after I got the leaks out of it. Don't let me scare you.
All the leaks were at the floor to wall joint. On the older models the wall was nailed to the side of the floor, instead of placed on top. On mine the putty strip was not properly filled and caused leakage around half the length of the trailer.Spent a whole winter drying this out with a 500 w. halogen lamp and fixing it. I have had no leaks since.
At the wall to floor corners you may want to remove some screws and check for corrosion and moisture. The condition of the screws will tell a lot about water penetration.
The walls in mine are the so called mesa panel, which is a corrugated fibreglass panel. All windows and doors were installed with a foam strip instead of putty, thus less foam in the hollow of the corrugation.
It did not leak but I did not trust it and replaced all with putty. You may want to check that. Other than that we are still happy with the trailer, the interior finish is good, we like the layout and am surprised that sofar every spring all the equipment works at first try after all those years. But that is a reflection on the equipment manufacturer and not on OK. By the way,all the decals are still in excellent shape, as opposed to a lot of complaints about decals disintegrating after a few years.
Enjoy the new toy. If you look after it, it will look after you.

RE: Re-string of day/night shades on our trailer

Run your fingers between the top of the shade and the window frame. At each end
you will find a clip and maybe one in the middle. If you use a mirror you can probably see them. The clip has a litle barb on it.Push it back or rotate the shade out of it forward.
Depending on where you are in Lake country , I suggest you google "venetian blind repair" in Kamloops or Williams Lake or phone a local RV dealer for an address.
I had the same problem a few years ago and had it shop repaired and was surprised how little it cost. Was not worth my while to mess around with it.
You should be able to get a phone estimate.
Hope this helps.

RE: roof coatings

I have no experience with this material but look at this website:
http://www.epdmcoatings.com/rv_roof_repair.html
My trailer is a '97 and am interested in this product after I do my research. The cost for my 23 ft trailer would be approx. $ 400 for materials.
I suspect that others with experience with this product will chime in.

RE: Blinds repair/replacement

If you google: venetian blinds repair and installation in Madison WI. you will be surprised how many shops show up.
I had the same problem some years ago.Tried to fix it myself, but gave up. It is tricky. I was surprised at the low repair cost.
You may want to try that .

RE: Finally got the new TV...now one more towing question

GM has a service bulletin Document ID:2180085 for installation of after market trailer brake controller. It is called: #06-08-45-008B: Information on Auxiliary Power Wire at Trailer and Installation of
Aftermarket Trailer Brake Controller. ( Aug. 19,2008)
Starting in 2007 the pigtail harness was discontinued.
Your dealer should have a copy of this bulletin.
Good luck. The wiring bundle may be hard to find. It was in my 09 Silverado. It is supposed to be taped to the steering column.

RE: vaccum breaker for shower?

You should also check the hole in the roof where the vent pipe daylights.
On my trailer, inspecting the sealing compound from the outside, all looked O.K. My vent pipe is accessible from the inside of a closet. By removing the cover plate around the pipe I could see daylight. Stuffing the area around the pipe with rockwool and redoing the sealing compound from the outside fixed my odour problem.

RE: TT limitations to fit my TV

The door sticker on your truck shows a GVWR of 6400lbs. It should also show the cargo capacity. My '09 silverado, ext. cab. short box 5'5", 2wh drive shows a cargo cap. of 1289 lbs. with the same GVWR as yours. I suspect yours is about the same, given that you have a heavier truck plus the weight of the transfer case.
Good luck with your search.

RE: Cracked Fiberglass question (picture heavy)

Take the trailer back to the dealer and try to get a workorder stating that the repairs will be done under warranty but after the end of the summer season.
Or try to negotiate a replacement trailer.

RE: Maxxis ST Tire Availability in Canada & "Prometer" Tires

Last week I purchased 4 Maxxis 205/75/R15 from KalTire in Burnaby.
Cost $ 488.75 mounted and including steel valves and all taxes and Fees.
Tires were made in the 40th week of 2010. Google Kaltire and you will find shops in various places in B.C.
Hope this helps.
