RE: Sound Proofing generator space

I have heard about a lining for automotive use that is foil with a lead interior that really deadens the noise level. I have seen it discussed in here, more having to do with making the dog house quieter.\
Here it is

I think your expectations on road side assistance services is unrealistic. Good luck though.

RE: georgetown ,how tall

You realize that if you build the place based on the Georgetown you will hit the Lotto for 10 million and soon be driving a Prevost.
Or you will sell your place to someone who needs a bigger opening. I don't know how much an extra foot or two would cost but I think I'd go higher than needed.
The jump from 12 ft to 14 ft is about $1400.00...
I have 107 doors at my condo storage facility. All of them are 14' tall. Would not consider anything lower.

RE: Coach Wash and Detail in Yuma or Q

Look for Roberts RV Wash. He and his crew are top knotch. $35 for a complete wash and wax. $20 to do the roof treatment with Protect-all. I think its about $130 for a complete wash and paste wax treatment including the roof treatment. BTW: that includes your toad or pickup.
Really a professional crew. He frequents the Yuma Lakes park.
Seriously???? $35 for a wash AND a wax?? Too good to be true.

RE: over the counter micro/convection

I had a sharp, and see them in many other motor homes. It worked just fine for us. We did't have an inverter so I cannot comment on that potential issue.

RE: Aquahot circulating pump repair/replacement

Funny. I have a buddy of mine who is an Aquahot tech here for a few days. He loves to help out in any way he can. Let me know if you need any help online.

RE: RMP3 failure

It sounds like maybe there was residual wax left on your rear cap. It is best to use TSP (tri sodium phosphate) solution to remove all wax and grease prior to the RMP. It is found in the paint section of Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace.
If you ever got this stuff on your hands,(RMP) you know how well it adheres...to everything.

RE: Class A Storage Cover

First off, I bought one of the heavy duty covers which lasted about 2 years.
Wind is a real problem, as the cover buffets the finish on the RV. After that one wore out, I purchased a cheap, light weight one from WalMart. (No I don't camp there). Much to my surprise, the lighter fabric did not mess up the finish, was 1/3 the cost of the heavy duty one, and lasted just a long.
Installing any cover is another story in itself.

RE: Question on Rv Sales?

I just went to their web site HERE
I looked at a few RV's they have listed, their prices seem really high. Though, if it is a consignment site, that is no fault of theirs.

If it was something I really wanted, yes....FROM A PAY PHONE. And they would not get any of my info. until they gave me a price.

Would you call?

Just curious -
If you were searching for an RV, and an ad without prices was posted, requesting you to "call for price" would you be inclined to call or just move on to the next one?

RE: Exhaust Manifold Repair

Willy,
What causes the studs to break, is rust, from the cast steel header, and nut/washer. The rust expands, forcing the stud to stretch and eventually break. I changed my steel headers out with less than 16,000 miles on the MH, and replaced them with stainless steel headers. When I removed the original headers, about 1/3 of the studs came out with the nuts due to being rusted on. Some of these studs had rust starting to form between the stud and header. Changing to a larger bolt, may not buy anything. Stainless Steel is tough, but not very strong. Try finding a SS bolt in grade 5 or above.
Stainless bolts are not graded. Grade 5 and 8 are only for steel bolts.

RE: Exhaust Manifold Repair

I have received many replies in regards to install headers to resolve this issue.
My question is: has anyone drilled and tapped the aluminum heads on Ford V10 6.8 litre engine which would allow the use of larger bolts or studs to fasten the exhaust manifolds, and if so what grade and size bolts or studs were you able to use, and did it resolve the issue of the smaller stainless 1/4 inch studs breaking.
Thank You
Willy Chuck
I would not go there. No way, no how!

RE: Front Brakes - Ford F-53

Have the rotors turned, or even replace them, since RV's require a lot of
braking force. Other than that, assuming you can get the RV front off of the ground, it is pretty easy.
Keep everything clean while doing the assembly.

RE: Another Phaeton Question

Thanks for that. That does explain quite a bit. The mileage just to deliver the RV to the dealer must be close to that.
