RE: SeaLand 210 toilet repair

Call the manufacture and tell them your problem and they will send you the parts for free.

RE: Another furnace question

Bad connections are the most freguent problems and the first thing the trouble shooting guide tells you to check. A bad connection can cause low voltage and prevent the furnace from lighting.

RE: Double Towing

Legle or not the first hitch has to have the capasity for the weight of both trailers. also the thing you are calling a bumper on the back of a travel trailer is nothing more than a place to put your sewer hose.

RE: 454 desieling

Check the dist.advance curve and set the timing at specs. If the idle timing it too low you have to open the trotle plates more to get the proper idle speed and this can cause the condition. Too much air!

RE: Generator adjust valve lash

It's a good idea to check and adjust the valve lash. As the valve lash increases its like a hammer hitting the end of the valve stem the wide the lash the harder the hit besides you will like the way it quiets the generator down. The carbon problem has greatly deminished with unleaded gas.

RE: ride height

The ride height is measured between the travel stop and the cross menber. Most P searies chassis are suppose to be around 2 to2 1/2 inches but If the springs have been changed it could be anything. Some people change the springs trying to get the MH to ride level and in most cases this is too high.

RE: dolly tow 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan

If you tie it down with the trans in park it puts undo preasure on the parking brake paw. Tie it down with the trans in nuetral and after it is secured then put it in park. Ther have been cases where the parking paw broke and some where the trans case cracked.

RE: alignment

The most important thing when aligning the front end is to have it setting at the proper ride height. On most P series chassis this is about two inches clearance on the bump stop. As the front end moves up and down the camber will change. As far as handling the caster controls this. The more caster the straighter it will run but as you increase caster you increase tire wear.

RE: double trailer hitch

I use a double receiver hitch and turn it upside down with the bike rack in the top one and my ball hitch in the botom for towing my car. I did move the bike rack closer to the MH by sliding it farther in the receiver and drilling another hole in the shaft for the pin.

RE: disinfecting fresh water holding tank national dolphin

Take the cap off and use a funnel. It's easier if you premix the bleach with about a quart of water.Thereis no cap on a Dolphin. You have to fill the tank from the city water connection. Filling the hose with bleach is the easyest way but you may have to do it a couple of times to get ehough bleach in it. After puting the bleach in drive it around to move it around good and then let it set for a while before flushing it out. You may have to do this a couple of times.

50A service uses both sides of a 220v curcuit. It probably triped one side of the breaker on the pole.

RE: Mid Florida or Gulf area destination

The people around you is what makes the park so when looking first make sure its warm enough for you. Make sure the things you like to do are near by and most of all the other people in the park can make your stay fun. Where we stay is not fancy but it has activitys and pool and the people are wonderful and fun loving. It's like going home to your winter neighborhood.

RE: Acme Tow Dolly

I don't see how the tow dolley turns a corner. from the pictures I don't see any pivot plate or turning spindles so going aroung corners you would have to drag the wheels sidways. The ramps are seperate so where do you stow them and as far as the straples system I thought I would see somthing inovative but IMHO you would be taking a chance of damaging your suspention and/or brake system. I think I will stick with my Demco Kar KaddySS. If I ever get to where I always use the same car to tow I might go 4 down.

RE: Nightmare Stories, how common

Keep in mind that this forum is for people that have problems and people that think they have problems. A good example is handling and ride problems. Its not your family car. The other thing is this forum represents less than 10% of RV owners.

RE: Double towing in winter

I never claim to be an expert on this subject but this is the law in MO. and brakes on all units when double towing is the law in most states. As far as double towing on ice and snow its the same as always go slow and be carful and when double towing be double carful and don't let your trailers pass you. In MO.& ILL. they have roving DOT units that will stop you and check if they think there is a violation.

All trailers in a double tow setup are required to have brakes and only one ball hitch.
