Here are the plan options for Millenicom.

I have an email indicating their Hotspot plan is $69.99/mo for 20GB trying to compete more with Verizon. Verizon is $80.00/mo 10GB but the service appears better from our testing.

Fine print on the Hotspot:

"Early Bird Special: For our early customers joining our Hotspot Plan we are making the following modifications to our normal pricing and usage allowance. This pricing and usage allowance will be "grandfathered in" and will not switch to the normal increased pricing and reduced usage allowance when this special program is no longer offered. Our "Early Bird Special" Millenicom 3G/4G Hotspot Plan is a no-contract service that allows for 10 gigabytes of data transfer of 4G but will include 10 more gigabytes of 3G (or a total of 20 gigabytes of data transfer if 4G is not available or intermittent) for $69.99/month."

The only way you get 20GB is if 4G is NOT available or intermittent.

More fine print:

"Fine Print: In the event a customer signed up for our Early Bird Special later decides to close this account they will need to adopt the usage and pricing for what is available at the time they choose to return to our service."

Just a comment on doing banking over open networks. Once you connect to the bank website (https instead of just http) you are secure. Doesn't matter what connection you are using. The security issue is when you are using a public computer like at a hotel. Your banking session can leave behind bits of information on the computer (like "cookies") that others might be able to discover. As long as you are using your own computer and make sure you see the "s" in https, you are OK.

I suspect there may be some differences between the Advanced Plan (what we have) and the HotSpot plan (which seems more like the Verizon Mifi program).

They did tell me the Advanced plan is on the Verizon network using their towers and we should see the exact same service.

We ARE NOT seeing the same service as our son on the Verizon Mifi 4510 service just down the street. He brought his to our home and we compared "real time" several times and there was a consistent difference. The Verizon was 2-4 times faster and he is not seeing 4G service.

Here is the quote from Millenicom:

Everywhere that Verizon has mobile broadband service will work with our Standard, Advanced and Hotspot Plans, including the address you list. Our Hotspot Plan allows for 20 gigabytes of data transfer for $69.99/month (Verizon sells the same service for $80 with a 10 gigabyte cap and a $10 per gigabyte overage fee and a 2 year contract ... we have none of that).

My wife used to give me $1.00 each workday for lunch. After a long argument, I won. Now she gives me $5.00 every Monday.

There are no differences in backhaul has to be another reason if he is not getting 4G signal . Sounds like your device is not working properly . You get exactly the same backhaul . Know lots of RV'ers and storm chasers using Millenicom side by side with People signed up direct with Verizon. Millenicom buys in bulk an passes savings on to end users

Just signed on to Millenicom for their 20 Gig(10/10) program, the fee quoted was their "early bird" fee. The fee has no add on charges"taxes, etc"". The Verizon 10 gig program costs $80.00/month and then you add taxes/excise, Brings the total to $100.00/month for 10 gig....Looking forward to receiving millenicom pkg.
