Hi all,

I have been going over this for a while...and haven't made a decision. Could you all offer some help?
We currently live out of the TT 6 months out of the year, parked for a while and travel a bit also. Currently at our home we have u-verse ($40 month) At the park we stay at we are able to access free wi-fi at certain areas. It is public, last year I bank on-line anyway. On the road we have access to where ever AT&T is free (do not bank there)
Last year I kept the u-verse active (can go on vacation mode but only every 18 months and then run the risk of being charged higher rates when reactivated).
It bothers me to pay for service I only use 1/2 the year. It also scares me to use a public wi-fi to pay bills.
I haven't made the switch because...I am a mega user (watch all my TV on-line, youtube, music etc....ok I can get unlimited, but...
can I get the speed?????Not only am I addicted to the internet..I likes it fast. My niece says it is as bad as dial up??? Is this true? she has an old sprint air card. Would it be the same or has the speed gotten better? I dont mind paying more for the mobility and being secure when paying bills, but dont want to be pulling my hair out because I am buffering all the time.Anything else I might not realize while I am asking??
Thanks for your help!

IMHO: For fast go with a Verizon 4G MiFi device. I see up to 20Mbps in 4G areas. Works slower but acceptable in 3G areas. And Verizon has the largest footprint for 4G by far.

Checking it out! Thanks sch911. I am in and out of 4G spots. Home yes, camping not usually. I understand Millicom uses Verizon when on its unlimited plan..
Forgot to add I am wanting this for my laptop. My cell is a "dumb" phone and doesn't get internet access

I have had both recently. We had Verizon 4G Mifi 4510 in a 4G area. It is awesome - 23+ Mbps. However, the best we could do was 10GB for $80.00/month.

Our son lives down the street has Verizon 3G/4G Wifi 4510 and only hits about 1.2-1.6Mbps tops at Speedtest.net.

We are on Millenicom 20GB service which is suppose to use the Verizon 3G hardware and towers but only get about .8-1.2Mbps - terrible! It cost $60.00/month.

We need to find something else but there just isnt much offered here in New Castle, Va 24127.

Millenicom claims their speeds should match Verizon but I can check the speeds within minutes several times and consistently get better results with Verizon than Millenicom both on 3G according to the lights on the Verizon Mifi device.

We need to find another service...but....

My wife used to give me $1.00 each workday for lunch. After a long argument, I won. Now she gives me $5.00 every Monday.

I use Speed test.net to check whatever connection I'm on. I've seen so called 4G spots with less than 1G download speed and lousy ping times.

We have the Millenicom unlimited, which is Verizon infrastructure and consistently see 1.2meg download, even out here in the boonies. When in the cities, it can be much higher.

Do you really mean 54Megs or Mbps or .54Mbps?

Just ran mine and it was .52Mbps. Terrible! Still a Grade 'F'.

Unless there's been a very recent change, Millenicom's Unlimited plan uses Sprint's network, and their 20GB Advanced plan uses Verizon. Are you able to use a My Verizon account to monitor your usage?
