Hello All!
I am looking at a 23ft 2001 Nash fiver this weekend and was hoping to hear from some owners.
Any known trouble areas? I know the usual advice is leaks and make sure all components are in working order. I'm curious about structural and/or siding problems... roof issues and any other major stuff like that.
Thanks for any help!!

My 2002 AF was a good unit. Only real complaint we had was the cheezy foam rubber used for cushions. After 5 minutes we were sitting on the deck. Other than leaks and appliances they are great units. BTW it will probably have a Norcold refer. So be sure all recalls have neen done.

Great, thanks for the heads up. It has a new roof and recall work done on the fridge. Everything works on the rig but will need some new tires.
What are good tires for a 4500lb fiver??

They are quality built units rugged enough for back country camping. Like all RVs, they need the upkeep and maintenance to keep them in good condition, such as roof caulking. I would try to find out if the roof was replaced due to damage (low hanging limb, etc.), UV deterioriation, or leaks and associated structural repair.
I have had no problems with the aluminum siding. You might want to visit the Northwood owner's forum afnash.com for further information.
IMHO, Maxxis is the only ST tire worth the money.

Right on, good info diesel. Looks like a leak on the front and backed into a tree on the back. The backing into part allowed them to make an insurance claim and they were able to get the entire roof replaced and resealed. Looks like a great job and we've had rain lately and no apparent leaks on the inside.
I will look into the Maxxis tires as well.
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it!!
