We are going to Niagara Falls this spring and are looking from suggestions for campgrounds. We are going Thursday night or Friday morning and staying for the weekend. It has been years since I have been there and my wife and daughter have never been there.

There are a lot of posts in this forum about Niagara Falls if you do a search you can read them. We prefer Four Mile Creek - it's on the US side and you can park free downtown with your tag ..huge sites! The only downside if you travel with kids is there is no swimming there ...if you want to you can use the pool at Fort Niagara just down the road - you get into the park for free then pay a few dollars to swim. If you're not going in the summer it won't matter anyway There are some big, beautiful sites at Four Mile Creek!

We also stayed at the Niagra Falls KOA on the Canadian side and liked it well, granted it has been several years.

Canadian side has best campgrounds and best views of the falls. There is also usually shuttles or public transportation available.

We visit Niagara Falls every year and we stay at the KOA Lundy's Lane on the Canadian side. We have checked out all of the campgrounds on the Canadian side and a couple on the US side and we believe the KOA is the best for us.

We stayed at Royal and enjoyed every minuet. Black top pads, pull thrus, big rig friendly and close to all the downtown attractions. I for one do not believe that the Canadians have the best view of the falls. I think the one saying that are Canadian,.
I am an American and I think we have best view of the falls.

You may like the U.S. view of the falls but what about Niagara Falls, NY by the Falls. I lived up there years ago when Niagara Falls, NY elected a new female Mayor. One of the first things she did was convened a meeting for 8:00pm on a given week night. She had made arrangements with the city transit authority to supply 2 buses, she loaded all the town councilors and various city officials onto the 2 busses and they struck off around the city. They stopped at several locations and she instructed the officials to get off the bus at each location. They were told they would be picked up at the next corner. NONE of them felt safe and would not get off the bus. After arriving back at City Hall she ended her meeting with the publicized statement that “We have created what you have seen night and it is our responsibility to fix it”. They NEVER did, but you can stay on the American side if you chose. For me I go to the Canadian side with so much more to enjoy and the attraction they have built. I feel SO much safer for me and my family but to each his own.
Happy Trails

Bugs53, my question to you would be have you visited the Canadian side and seen the falls from that view point? Have you visited the many great attractions on the Canadian side including a visit to Niagara on The Lake?
We have acted as tour guides to lots of our American friends visiting the area and none were ever disappointed they at least toured the Canadian side. Most of them stay on the Canadian side and were happy they did.
There must be a reason so many Americans cross over to the Canadian side for at least part of their stay in the area?? During any visit to the area during the year, you will find that over 50% of the folks in the campgrounds on the Canadian side are American. The Canadians visiting the American side are there mostly for the cross border shopping.
I would guess the folks from Indiana and Massachusetts might also be Americans, so their opinions also count.
We spend part of the year touring in the US every year because we have so many friends there and enjoy seeing the tourist sites there. Yes you have the right to have your own opinion.
