For our upcoming trip to Myrtle Beach in March, I'm figuring our stop on the way down will be somewhere around where I-81 meets the I-66. Does anyone have any recommendations on a stopover? I prefer a campground this time around since I'm not sure on the health of my generator right now.

In the general area, I see Candy Hill Campground in Winchester, VA and Battle of Cedar Creek in Middletown, VA.

We stayed at Candy Hill Campground in Winchester Virginia. Its off the loop around Winchester, but very easy to access.

There is also Creekside Campground, just a short drive south of RT 66/ 81 intersection.

There is a campground just short of the W Va /Va line in Falling Waters,W Va...we have been staying there...For years we stayed at Candy Hill C/G, but new owners took it over and it all depends the mood they are in when you get there,,how your stay is......they can be quite rude....my buddy with 40 ft % wheel asked for one of the "H" sites..they told him "you get the site we give you"...and it wasn't a "H" site...campground that night was fairly empty and the 4 H sites were empty all night
Most people we know..now by-pass Candy Hill......Chuck

I only see one on rvparkreviews.com for Falling Waters - Falling Waters Campsite on the 11, about a mile away from the I-81. Is this it?
