Good for WalMart.

Give somebody a free place to stay and end up being plagued with safety, noise, litter, and property problems --- no dice.

WM is doing the right thing.

I think a 24 hour policy is very liberal. The times that we've used a Walmart it was from early to late evening till about 8am; usually no more than about 12 to 14 hours; sometimes less. And not to "camp" but just for supper, a night's sleep and a quick breakfast.

This Wal Mart has a very special problem. Williston is in the middle of an unbelievable oil boom that must be seen to be believed. Oil field workers have severe problems finding accommodations anywhere, despite oil camps going up as fast as they can. That parking lot is just about always full, and very busy.

From what we've seen, Wal Mart is being very tolerant in this case.

Been there-- seen it. Cut them a bit of a break, folks.

I think it's time to open an RV park up there. They don't need fancy amenities, but it would attract great numbers!

Heck, even a parking lot with a dump station, a couple host ports for fresh water, and some dumpsters for trash might be lucrative, especially with what the market would bear. A full hookup RV park would be even better.
