I had an alignment today and didnt realize untill the alignment was done that i have a leak in my coil spring airbags. When i took it to the shop i thought i had 80psi in both bags with 2 1/8 ride height same side to side. When i paid my bill i asked the shop how did the measurements turn out on my ride heights. They said the ride heights were good and same side to side but the air pressure in the bags were different side to side. They said one had 55psi and the other 45 psi. They thought it was a weak spring issue and i had it that way on purpose.Prior to this i had 80 psi same side to side with same ride height side to side.My question is if i fix the leak and reset the air pressure same side to side and it doesnt change the ride height it shouldnt change the alignment any.would this be correct?

Joe,
You would be much further ahead of the game if you got rid of those springs and airbags and installed the heavy duty springs.

Tell me if im right or wrong. When adjusting air pressure in the coil spring airbags it wont effect alignment as long as it doesnt change the ride height.

Yes, It will affect the alignment. The more air pressure you add to the bags the more it changes the ride height. Make sure you are loaded with the gear, water, etc that you will have when driving on a trip when you set the ride height and geet the front end aligned.

I will have to beg the differ,I had 2 1/8 on my ride height at 50psi and took the bags all the way to 100psi to see if i could get 2 1/2 and it was still 2 1/8.I know it wont change the ride height. What i wont to know since the ride height doesnt change will the the alignment remain the same.

It should not change alignment at all. Bags shouldn't change ride hight to much in front because it is inside of spring.

Correct. Don't waste $$$ on the bags. Do as pat said and replace the coil springs with springs for the correct weight of the front axel. SuperSteer has them also Camping World sells them.

Their are nothing wrong with the springs,I have the correct ride height. The problem is the bags.I believe their is a leak in one of the lines.Probley at the t fittings. The bags are brand new.No big deal,It just pisses me off that i found out the pressure was not adjusted correctly untill after the alignment.

Joe the bags are bandaids that the company put it after they figured they were putting this big box on instead of a bread truck -the springs should be replaced and the bags thrown in the garage- if you have MH weighed on all four corners somebody like henderson will be able to tell you what springs should go in-this is the route I went after screwing around with bags for a year-like me you probably wasted money on a alignment and will have to have it done again-Henderson can also tell you the right numbers for your MH so you get the right caster & camber and give you the right air pressures-Rich
