WE always dewinterize at the CG.Hook up the water, Let the faucetts run till clear. then use the water as we normally do. No I don't sanitize. Any more than I sanitize the white water hose.

Just a word about winterizing in Atlanta...we live in Marietta and most years we haven't needed to winterize the lines. We only get, maaaaybe a total of 2 weeks of below 32 weather during the entire winter season, so it hasn't been much of a problem. Well, that is, until last year. Remember that hard freeze when we had 8" of snow & ice for about 10 days. Yeah. Froze the water lines to my potty and broke the dang thing. Over $200 worth of repairs. Sheesh. We haven't dewinterized yet and probably won't until at least March. Lesson learned.

We are owners of our very first TT. We purchased an Enterra 303BHS at the Atlanta RV Show and took delivery of it this past weekend. Being new to all of this I feel like my subject line right now... Thankfully, I have found this site and it is helping me learn what I need to know.
My question is about de-winterization. We are planning to take our first trip over President's Day weekend down to Tybee Island. The unit I took delivery of came winterized and I need to de-winterize. Should I do this before we go on our trip or can I do it at the site when we get there?
My other question is do I need to winterize again after the trip? We live in the Atlanta area and have had a very mild winter so far. I know I am asking everyone to play meteorologist with this question but really just not sure. Is it one of those safer than sorry kind of things? Thank you, everyone, in advance for your assistance!

Hook up to 'City Water' at the campground and run water thru the faucets until clear. DONE...
To winterize after the trip...
Open the low point drains...
Open the 'Fresh water Tank' drain...
When nothing else drips out, hook an air compressor at 35psi to the City Water connection and open one faucet at a time and water will spurt out... Don't forget the toilet & outside shower...
I also drain my hot water heater.
When no more water comes out lots of people stop right there.
To be safe I add pink stuff to the drains and tanks...
I buy pink RV anti freeze at Walmart...
(Don't put pink stuff in hot water heater)
I live in Gadsden, Al. about the same latitude as Atlanta and I would re-winterize. You could get a late freeze into early March.
Search and you will find much more detailed information on winterizing on this forum, than what I gave...

When I de-winterize early in the season I just set my thermostat to 35 for until I am sure I am out of danger of a cold spell, I am hooked up to shore power while in storage so it will not drain my battery but it I think I have only had it click on once or twice when I have it set that low.
