Does anyone own this model that can provide input on pro's and con's. We are very interested as it has a lot of amenities not found in other trailers of this lenght.
My biggest concern is tounge weight. FR lists dry hitch at 600 - and depending on actually hitch weight it may put a strain on my half ton pickup's payload.
Anyone have actual "ready to camp" hitch weights for this unit?

Dry weights are meaningless in determining a tow vehicle's ability to handle the weight. Tongue weight is best defined using 15% of TT's GVWR so there are no surprises. According to the link you provided, your tongue weight can be well over 900 lbs.

We are also considering one of the V-lite trailers (30WRKS) and towing it with our F150. If we decide to go this route, I will be switching out my current Ford OEM hitch receiver (9900#/990# tongue weight) with one good to 12,000#/1200# tongue weight. I would also be stepping up to a larger WDH probably rated at 1250#. We have a seasonal site, so I will only be pulling it a few times a year, and would do so with just me in the truck. As additional information, my F-150 has around 1,400# of payload (1,610# of actual payload - 200# ARE topper). The V-lites are some very nice units indeed. Good luck!

I have this unit. I have a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. Pulling with this truck, I almost don't know it is back there. I have the equalizer hitch and it pulls like a dream. I would consider pulling w/ the new F 150 w/ a 9,000lb rating. I would not even consider it w/ a 5,000lb rating. That said, I am overly cautious. As far as the TT goes, I love it. It has all the amenities I could dream of and in a much smaller size. One more thing is to check you ratio of the TT size to your wheelbase. My very first unit, this was out of ratio and the tail wagged the preverbial dog. Good luck on your decision.

Thanks everyone! I have a 2010 Tundra, 4WD with a 5.7L and tow package. My "towing" capacity is over 10,000 lbs, but my concern was my chinsy payload rating of 1380. Its a pretty long weelbase so I think it would be stable with a 4 point equlizer.
David - had sent you a PM, saw you from GA and wondered if you had gotten yours from PECO, that is where we are looking to purchase. We are also considering the Microlite 25DS which is somewhat lighter, but lacks the upgrades of the VLite. I just wish the tounge weight was not so high (guess it is the front bathroom/tanks that kills it).

Hi Jack,
Yes I did get mine from PECO. This is our third purchase from them. They have been wonderful to work with. With your ratings, I THINK you will be OK. I'm not an expert. You may have issues if you get in the mountains. I have always been on the cautious side. With the equalizer, that will help. We came very close to getting the Microlite 21. I really liked the floor plan and was impressed with the interior space. But I could not live with the shower. When we found the v-lite, it was over. I hope this helps. Either way, you should be happy.

Thanks David, we have been very happy with PECO and bought our current PUP there. Nick has been very patient and we have looked at TTs. We liked the Microlite 21 as well, but the shower is a deal killer. The Microlite 25 is perfect, but the 21WRS is such a nice unit that my wife is already sold. We really like how we would be able to sleep at the back of the unit as we usually get sites that back up to some type of running water.
