I am considering installing a slideout mechanism in my large storage bay. I would like to make my own custom slide mechanism but have been unable to find the necessary hardware. Anyone ever attempt this project?

Try here, http://www.mcmaster.com/# Pretty much if they don't have something you can use. it's going to be tough to find. I would reccmmend you try MorRyde for a slide. I put one in the front of our fifth to hold a Yamaha generator. http://www.morryde.com/aftermarket/sliding-trays.html
Good luck.

For the price of JoeyBeds, making one IMHO isn't worth what it would cost for parts. I would simply buy the kit....Dennis

Here is the best way to go as you are not going to find the hardware to make one. With these, you supply the plywood floor and put it together. You will need a really good pop rivet gun to pop the large steel riverts. You can make your own trim kit so you are looking at $300+ for a 90" long that will open from both sides. May qualify for the free shipping.
