We do about 4000-5000 miles per year and repack every year, I don't like having our trips messed up by something that is so easy to do.

We average 8,000 miles/year; repack every year.

We use ours about 6000 miles a year and pull somewhere at least once a month. Do the bearings and brakes every other year. If I used it less I would probably due it annually to prevent worrying about drying out or solidifing the grease. Since it is "exercised" regularly I have never had a problem

I repack about every 3-4 years. Grease by hand via the easy lube start of each season and check bearing end play between repacks.

During the season I monitor bearing temps via a infrared thermometer; if temps vary by 10%, I look closer once we reach home.

No problems yet; the reasoning that the side loading these axles experience during their life time doesn't wash for me...

Dexter recommends every year or 12000 miles; see the Dexter Axle manual.

We average 10K a year and I do mine every other year. They do get inspected every Spring when I check/adjust brakes, but the last time I serviced them they still looked great with plenty of grease and no visual bearing wear. If done right, it might be overkill doing it yearly, but as stated before it is cheap insurance.

o mine every year. Gives me a chance to check and adjust the brakes and rotate the tires also.
