Its a slide job and it's either roasting hot or to cool. I have seen mods of people putting different thermostats in.. Is this a very simple mod ? Regular home style T stat works great and not hard to install at all. Couple of different ways to hook up the Hunter Digital depending on make of OEM. Somebody here has the different instructions...... OR do a search for Hunter Thermostat. It's a simple conversion and well worth it. Some install a mini switch so they have high & low fan speed selection. Never using the low setting on my OEM I just did the straight install and only wired the fan speed for high. bikendan • View posts Napa, Cal. I had adjusted the Anticipator on my old thermostat. The Hunter 4299b worked like a champ. Only thing is I should have gotten one that was backlite. Will control the furnace nicely with Blast from the Center AC systems but won't do a thing for the AC part. Adjusting the anticipator will usually control the furnace more tightly but a digital thermostat is less than $30 and maybe less than $20.
