Okay I was my new htt today putting this away and I had the heat on. Its a slide job and it's either roasting hot or to cool. I have seen mods of people putting different thermostats in.. Is this a very simple mod ? Or do I need a special kind ?

So simple, even a caveman can do it. Regular home style T stat works great and not hard to install at all. Just be sure to get one with batteries as shown above.

What brand/model is your OEM thermostat?
Couple of different ways to hook up the Hunter Digital depending on make of OEM.
Somebody here has the different instructions......
OR do a search for Hunter Thermostat.
It's a simple conversion and well worth it. Some install a mini switch so they have high & low fan speed selection. Never using the low setting on my OEM I just did the straight install and only wired the fan speed for high.

I found adjusting the anticipator on my factory thermostat cured the wide temperature swings. Sorry, no pics and the HTT's in storage.

I have to say this is one of the best mods that I have done! I had adjusted the Anticipator on my old thermostat. The Hunter 4299b worked like a champ. Only thing is I should have gotten one that was backlite. But now the temp swing is 3 degrees and not 10 or 12....thanks all for the confidence and instructions and the simplicity.

The Hunter works well for an integrated ducted AC/Furnace system. Will control the furnace nicely with Blast from the Center AC systems but won't do a thing for the AC part.
Adjusting the anticipator will usually control the furnace more tightly but a digital thermostat is less than $30 and maybe less than $20. As noted it must be battery operated to work in a camper.
