Hey folks, just a quick note on how to post your pictures from flickr, as I struggled with this a bit before figuring a basic workaround. Since I pay for the pro account there and use it for all my photo sharing I didn't want to have to post photos a 2nd time to photobucket or picasa for sharing.
What you'll notice is that if you use the Image link and use the "Grab the link" URL from Flickr it will not work. This is because the link provided by Flickr does not end in .jpg. It is something like:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/subversive99/5802892790/
This works great as a link, not so good as an image. The /img tags which this forum uses do not know how to deal with URLs that don't end in a .jpg or .png or something image-ey.
So, to post your photos from Flickr, go to the photo you wish to post.
Click actions --> all sizes
Choose medium 640 or smaller if you want your picture to be around the right size for the forum.
Right click on the photo and choose properties.
You will see the address (URL) which looks something like this: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3406/5802892790_0594892814_z.jpg
Highlight and Copy that URL, then come back to this forum and use the image button and paste the link in there. Your picture should show up properly, like this:

Hope this helps some people and saves them some time digging around.

Can't you just right-click on the picture and then click on "View Image Info", and copy the address......then post it in the usual way.....same as Photobucket, or any other photo program?

I just clicked on your photo, did the "image info" and re-posted, though a bit smaller.
By the way....very nice looking rig!

Technically, yes, though you won't have control over how big it shows up. If you view all sizes then you can choose the medium 640 which is a good size for posting in the forums.
Anyway, no big deal if people already know how to do it, but I couldn't find anything in the FAQs about posting from Flickr, so when I finally got it to work right I thought it might be useful for others.

Actually, when you use the photo posting button, it asks for the height and width of the image. I usually just put 400-500 on the width (it will automatically adjust the height proportionally). So, you do have some control over the sizes....and of course, if the photo is tall, then you might want to reduce the width size, so it's not to large. I do agree, that size that you posted is perfect. I really hate when I see those posts that I have to adjust the screen to be able to look at the entire photo in one viewing.

The above URL doesn't work as an image because it is a URL for a page that contains a picture and not a URL for the picture itself. Paste the URL into your address bar. You will not get the picture by itself; you will get a page that contains the picture.
Different sites have different ways to get the direct URL for a picture. To display a picture on this forum, that direct URL is what you must have.

rydabyk,
What our forum's software is looking for is a simple URL to the picture, such as
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6211/6256966293_62da9aa1ee_z.jpg
Placing the URL in the message window's image tool,
Will produce this picture
