If your Coach has a clear coat, you don't need wax to protect the paint. That's old technology. Waxing a coach, with clear coat, is a make work and feel good job.

We never wax the coach, and consistantly get comments about how great it looks, or how someone can't believe it's a 2005 because it looks so great. We wash it with Awesome twice a year...it takes about 2hrs.

X3 Havent used wax in years. I just use 303 to protect the clearcoat from UV.

A lot depends on the type and quality of the paint job. Just having a clear coat does not mean that the coach does not need wax. If your coach manufacturer used a good quality urethane base coat/clear coat finish, then wax is not needed. If the manufacturer used a lesser quality or an acrylic base coat/clear coat, then it does need wax protection. My Monaco coach, with aluminum side walls, sits outside in the Florida sun and the most I will do with it is wash it down on a regular basis. If I get some bugs on the front, I will use a fine clay bar to remove them. I have no oxidation and the coach looks like new. If your coach has fiberglass sides, with the gel-coat, it needs wax. Even some fiberglass sidewall coaches, with "full" body paint, have an exposed gel coat, with painted stripes only. These need wax.

A standard size can of auto wax (if you are using paste or cream) should do it.

I do mine 2x a year, I have used assorted brands including Dry Wasn-N-Guard, RV-Solution, Turtle Wax ZIP and some other brands. but it takes almost eaxctly a full tub of paste type wax to do it.. Which is.. Of course.. Ideal.

In Yuma AZ I can get the coach and the car washed and waxed for $110.00. For that amount I will have it done. Believe the cost might be simular in the keys but not sure.

Would you Wax your RV?

I did once, now I call Carlos and he comes to the campo with a barrel of good water. he and his 2 boys wash and wax ( with turtle wax ) for $2. per foot. Comes to $70 for our rig. Best money I ever spent. I have it washed in the fall and washed/waxed before we leave in the spring.

I did my 38ft DP with Red Max last year at the end of March and it still shines very well---plan on giving it another coat in a couple of months. I can put a coat on the whole thing in about 4hr. Could probably do it quicker but at 71 years old I am a little slow. Oh, I understand Red Max isn't available anymore but I have a little over a gallon left.

Go to Home Depot and buy a gallon of Zep (wet look) its even better than Redmax. And man does it ever shine. Yes it looks wet after it drys

I have a specific question about washing and waxing. I have a new class A with fiberglass/gel coat and vinyl striping etc (white RV). I use it for two or three days at a time on average about once a month. When not in use, the coach stays in a fully enclosed garage. I have washed it after every trip so far, but would like to give it a good clean before the next trip. It still looks nice and shiny, just want to keep it that way. I have all the equipment to keep my cars in good shape but don't know much about fiberglass/gel coat cleaning.
What is the best product(s) and method to keep this coach looking good?
