I never really thought about this, but it is sound advice.
They found 50 to 100 times more bacteria in the dip after someone dips into a bowl of party dip and then dips again with the same piece of food.
Once the food item enters the mouth it picks up any bacteria that is present. Then it is transferred to the dip in the bowl, and so on. OH YUK.

Yup. I don't use the dip at parties nor do I eat from the retzel/peanut bowl sitting on bar tops.

And THIS is why I don't shake hands, but on very rare occasions.. I don't like to eat uncovered food that is laid out at parties, and definitely don't like getting into the dips... Anyone who double dips is either inconsiderate, a moron, or both, in my opinion..

The stress associated by worrying about this sort of thing is probably much more unhealthy. In the end, something is going to get you so, what the hey?

This is why I never, never double dip.
I only triple dip.

Yes, you have a point, and I don't "stress" over it, I just do simple things to avoid some situations, that's it.. I'm, not like Howie Mandel, or anything like that, Howie has mysophobia, and his life is heavily impacted by it..
Another thing, I don't sleep with animals in my bed, they are HUGE piles of dirt, and dander, and I make simple adjustments in my life as to not get in that situation..

Not surprising....but in the course of day to day living, I would think that few people would tend to think about this practice.
Good to have these things publicized every so often, to remind.

We used to make big tubs of popcorn at work. One lady would not eat from the tub. Because she said " I know where those hands have been!"
