I have had issues for about a year. The generator quits running after a random amount of time, few minutes to several hours. The fuel pump is also making a clacking noise while running. Thus far for testing purposes, I have pulled the check valve out of the tank and blow through the fuel line (lung pressure) at the fuel tank 33 feet away from the generator and fuel easily came out of the fuel line which means there are no restrictions in the fuel line. So next I replaced the fuel pump after the dealer diagnosed it as bad with a new one from cumins; it had the same issues. I put the old one back on and returned the new one. I installed the new pump in since it saved $100 and was simple enough with two screws, two wires, two hoses. Now that I'm back with the old pump, it obviously has the same symptoms.
I put the fuel pick up line in a gallon of gas and used the prime button. It would make the noise that showed it was priming, clicking. The existing traces/puddle of fuel in the line (clear hose for diagnostic purposes) showed the fuel vibrating. However, it wouldn't suck the fuel 12 inches even when the fuel can was held level with the generator. The pump only had to such the fuel from the bottom of the can over the top of the can, and into the generator. When I put my finger over the fuel line, I cannot feel any suction either. If it sucks that weak, then it probably cannot suck it from the tank 33 feet away.
I read that some people say they have received a bad "new" pump from cumins. This time I'm going for an after market pump.
I had read that you can get one from Napa, but no part number was given.
Any one actually use an after market pump with no issues and its still working well after say a year?
Is the stock fuel pump self priming??? I hope so.
The generator is a Marquise Gold, 5,000 watt (I think) in my 2008 Cyclone 010TT.

I cant give you part #'s but I replaced my pump afew years back. You have to tell napa what fuel presure (low) you want and they will match the pump. Easy install and not much $.

I had the same problem with our marquise Gold 5000 Genset in our '07 Raptor 3018. same symptoms etc. I replaced the fuel filters at the genset. solved the problem. the fuel filter If i remember right is on the left hand side of the genset when facing it, at the bottom edge of the genset. I think there was also an inlince fuel filter under the genset along the Frame going back to the Fuel tank.
Hope this helps.
