I’m sure this gets asked about this time every year; sorry, I tried searching no luck. My DW is finally retiring and we would like to go to Baseball’s Spring Training in the Phoenix area. Where the best places to stay? We prefer State Parks type places with at least an electrical hook-up. We are Brewer fans and would like to see at least a couple of their games. Thanks for any info you may give.

Had a yen to go to Spring Training a couple of years ago. Debated taking the RV out of winter storage and decided to do this. Signed up for a Royals Spring Training package deal that included air fair, hotel, 2 games and a chance to have an on field meet with players, GM and coaches. Worked for us winter climate folks.

Good Morning
Theres no state parks around the west side Phoenix area. You might look at Lake Pleasant Regional park (county park) which is on the NW side of Phoenix and has electric, water and a dump station. Easy access to the 303 loop to get around the city. Reservation and pictures for that park are at: http://www.maricopacountyparks.org/
and select Lake Pleasant. Not many parks offer any hookups other than this one. The only state park is Lost Dutchman SP on the far east side of Phoenix (Apache Junction) which is also pretty nice but a ways away. reservations/pictures at: http://azstateparks.com/Parks/LODU/index.html
Some RV parks in the area but can't recommend any. Sorry

Phoenix is a BIG city and the ballparks are spread out all over it.
This year we will be spending 3 weeks there and hitting 9 of the 10 ballparks.
Since the Brewers play in Maryvale which is on the north side you probably want to stay near there. McDowell regional park has gotten great reviews. You may have a problem getting a site if you wait too long to book.
We are Angels fans and stay at Val Vista in Mesa which is on the south east side of Phoenix, so it's a bit of a drive to the parks on the northwest side but what else do we have to do? We will be at the Brewers game on the 18, maybe we'll see you there.
ENJOY!

We are going to one Angels game after the Good Sam Rally in March. We made reservations at Apache Palms Don't know to much about it, but it is close to the ball park and we are only staying one night before heading up to Camp Verde for a couple of days.

Apache Palms is the last place I'd stay; bad neighborhood, nasty managers, etc. The reason you're having trouble looking for a nice place is that the nice places are Maricopa County Parks (like Mcdowell). Go to RVparkreviews.com and you'll find some good ones.

We like staying in Goodyear, AZ and commute into the Camelback stadium. We like the Destiny RV Resort.
