I hesitate to bring this subject up - given that a previous thread went on so long and was eventually closed - but........

Perhaps I can help folks understand what may be going on between these 2 types of tires. It was clear in that closed thread that there are some mis-conceptions.

Ya' see, I am a tire engineer with a major tire manufacturer - over 30 years in the business. I've got quite a bit of insight into how this works.

Is anyone interested in reviving the discussion? My feelings won't be hurt if you don't.

Please! Defend yourself! I assume all tire engineers are the same and sold us these STs to begin with!

Seriously though - I read some of your blog and would be interested to hear what you say, especially after re-affirming my "nitrogen is balogna" theory.

Please do. I'm interested if you can scrub off chunks of rubber during tight manuvering, like backing hard when the tires appear to just about roll off the rims. I never had that with the ST tires but because of all the info (bad or good) I switched to LT tires and tread has come off. Bad tire or misapplication?
