Woodsmoke is a nice enough place -- too tight for my 40' diesel pusher, but for $150 to $200 less per month, you can be next door at Cypress Bend RV Resort. I talked to a resident yesterday who told me that there were still some spots open.

Note: Cypress Bend RV Resort is not a campground. It is a condo resort with about 400 unit spaces, 90% of which are now park models and mobiles. You will not find it in a directory. Sales and rentals are found on their website or by personal contact.

X2 for Tropical Palms but it is not "south of Lake Okeechobee where the really good Florida weather is located" which is very true.

This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Seminole Campground in North Fort Myers has RV trailers and a 5th wheel for rent. Nice redone campground that has maintained the old florida campground feel. Nice warm temps.

Alligator Park in Punta Gorda has a website that shows available rentals. Its a resident owned park. The office only rents RV sites but they list the Park models and Mobile homes that for rent from their owners. Lot of activities ane there are pics of the park on the website.

Citrus Vally south of Clermont FL has new park models and activities. Lots to do in the area. Except for 2 nights, weather has been great here this year. Mostly 70's-80's since October. Clerbrook north of Clermont has new park models, 3 heated pools, a golf course, and lots of activities. We almost bought a lot at Alligator Point but I didn't want a co-op, nice place, pool was on the smaller side. I like that area better than around the lake.

Riversidervresort.com have a few rentals. This park is near Port Charlotte, but has an Arcadia address. Highly recommend. Rentals are limited, but are clean and a good way to get a feel for Florida in the winter.

Regarding RV Parks available to rent. Corkscrew Woodlands in Estero Florida is just west of I75 off exit 123, 4 miles from the Gulf (as the crow flies). It is a beautiful 55+ community with lush landscaping and green space. There are a total of 640 owner owned properties, most containing park models with only a few rv spaces left. There are homes for rent each season as well but you must plan ahead. Go to the website corkscrewpark.com to see what is available. Estero is located between Fort Myers and Bonita Springs.
