If you use Firefox you can go to Tools>Add-on and then type EXIF in the search window to download an EXIF viewing tool. Once installed, you just right click on an image to show the EXIF data. Don's photo showed this data:
Quote:

IPTC Core (Adobe XMP)

Expand All / Collapse All / Show/Hide XMP Source / Show/Hide XMP
EXIF IFD0

Camera Make = NIKON CORPORATION
Camera Model = NIKON D70

As you can see a lot of the data is pretty arcane and mysterious! Windows Explorer may have something similar, but I don't use Explorer and not sure if they do or not.

Some photo hosting sites like Photobucket automatically strip the EXIF data. If the shooter uses a GPS, you can see where the image was taken. Here's an example:

At the bottom of the EXIF you will see:
Quote:

Click on the links to Googel Maps or one of the other selections and you'll see where I was standing in the Green Cay Nature Preserve in Delray Beach, Florida, when I took the image.
