We have a Chevy Silverado 6.6 Diesel 3/4 ton Crew cab truck and are thinking about buying The Heartland Elkridge QSQB
The GVWR on this 5er is 15,500
and the Dry weight is 11,945,
the hitch weight is 2,105.
Is our truck big enough to pull this 5er ?

I would want a dually or a 1 ton SRW for that. Mine is as heavy as that one. My preference is a dually, however people do it all the time.

Depends on your 2500 GM year model. The newer models have a higher tow/haul rating. What year is your 2500 GM truck ?

A DRW isn't necessary for a 13500 - 14000 lb trailer.

What year is your 2500. 2011 or newer you may stand a chance . Anything older you are exceeding your limitations.
The tow ratings for your truck including curb weight should be on a sticker on the drivers door. Post them here and we can give you a more accurate answer.

If you travel very very light you might be ok. But who's will camp empty, with a dry weight of 12K once you add some of the goodies and all your camping supplies you'll be pushing 14K and in all likely hood will push the Pin weight toward the 3K mark which more than likely will put you over your TVs limit. Our dry weight is 10.2k, but loaded for extended travel we're just over 14K, dry Pin is 1715 and loaded is 2600. So you can see those dry weights aren't worth the paper they're printed on, you need to work with the Gross and approx 20% of that for Pin weight. The Duramax/Allison will put it no problem, but you have to be able to control and stop that rolling home.

As you know everyone has there opinion, but we took a look at your 5er and it's weights and stats and the one we want and they are almost identical! And you have the same truck we have so your advice is very valuable to us. Thank you.
