Would you consider "full-timing" when you live in your RV but still work full time at a regular job. We are hopefully going to be doing this in the next few months for about 2 1/2 years until DW retires. I just want to know what to say to the good folks out there that ask, are you full-timers. Right now we say full-time workers and part-time RV'ers. But we still have a stick home and that will change. So I think technically we would be FULL-TIMERS.

My take on your situation until DW retires is the same as ours was - we lived full time in our RV for 4 months waiting for her to retire.
You'll probably get some "what's the difference" or "it's just semantics" or "who cares" responses so I thought I'd give you a yes or no answer - why not?
YES... you are full timers!

I would not have a problem living in our 5th wheel and still working in fact we do it everysummer from the beach. The problem for us is that we are in the northeast and the winters can be hard , our trailer is 4 season but I dont think i would want to deal with water lines and propane all winter. If I had a job in a warmer state I would do it in a heart beat , less taxes and up keep without having the stix house , hey do what you feel is right dont worry about others, or what to tell them. The only thing to think about is what your going to do when you can no longer travel we all have stop at some point. good luck

We have met a number of folks doing this including some military couples, both working. Size and washer dryer become more important considerations when you re trying to work and live in a smaller space too.

Of course you'll be a full-timer; whether you work or not (many full-timers either workamp or volunteer pretty much year round) or whether you travel or don't, doesn't really pertain as to whether "full time" applies to your situation.
IMHO, it's where you live, not whether the wheels move X number of miles a month.

If you are in the RV full-time, you are a "Full Timer"....doesn't matter what your job is, or even if you have a stick house. If you aren't living in it at the time, you're a FTer.
At least that's my take on it...

Way back in the day, one of my high school friends and his parents lived full time in an Airstream TT. We were army brats so in a way it made sense. The army back then was different then the army today, we moved every 2-3 years. So it has been done, you just have to ask yourself can you do it.

In my opinion, you will definitely be fulltimers; you'll just be doing it in a harder way since you won't be able to have the freedom to move around as much as the typical fulltimer.
