I have been doing a few mods this winter on my trailer and still have a couple to do. First I made the plywood cover that screws over water heater bypass lines snap on; just drilled some holes in it and installed snaps so that I don't have to remove 5 screws every time I need access. Second I unscrewed the face board off the front of the sofa and made it attach with velcro so that I can access the storage underneath the sofa easier. Third I have a welder buddy of mine building me a rack that will fold up on the back of the trailer to haul the bikes.
But one of the last things I want to do is to install an outdoor shower. But here is my question. My trailer has the stub outs for the shower already plumbed in to the lines under my bathroom sink. (JACKPOT!!!) It's about dead center from side to side on the rear wall. If you had a rack folded down in the rear of your trailer would you put the shower dead center like the stubs are or would you mount in towards the right on the rear wall? I can do either since I have access all along there since that's where the plumbing already runs? What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!!!

Probably where it could be accessed & used regardless of position of rack, loaded or not.
P.I.T. rear end if you had to unload rack or drop it down to use the shower.
Also....put a long hose on it.

I wish I could get rid of my outside shower. During the three years we have had the trailer we have never used it. I guess its great for washing off feet at the beach. I want to cap it off and suspect the supply lines are at the back of the trailer where the bathroom sink is located. Hey, maybe I could install two shut off valves and cut it off. Then the next owner could have it back if he/she wanted it.

Outside shower I'd love to have one on my rig I just got the hose connection on it only cold water. Works great during the summer! And it would be great right after surfing during the winter months. There are two hot and cold connections right outside the door I sure I could rig up something there, Your thoughts?

We use our outside shower ALL THE TIME! It has hot & colde water. We setup a dish washing station by setting a plastic shelf over the bumper on one side. We also have a folding plastic table we use if more work surface is needed. We keep hand soap, dish shop, towel, dish pan, & dish drain all right there. It's REALLY convenient for us.
We wash very little dishes inside and don't have to run inside or to the water supply (if there is one) to wash up after working around camp.
Our shower is located in the middle of the rear bumper. It's a good location, but we do have to remove our bike rack to access it. We don't *always* take the bike rack... but almost always use the shower.
I can't imagine having a camper without an outside shower!
Happy Camping!

We like having one...but the placement of it on our Eagle keeps us from using it as much as we'd like. It's on the side opposite of the awning...and located between the dinette/couch slide and the bunkhouse slide. I understand why they put it there given how the plumbing runs...etc.

This is what I was thinking. Either place I put it should work. I HATE everyone tracking in and out of the camper if they don't have to. This would eliminate alot of it since this is when it happens the most. Plus there isn't much counter space to do dishes anyways.
Thanks everyone!!!!

Mine is on the side opposite the door/awning. I think anyplace you put it will be OK as long as you have good access and don't mind having a puddle of water there. We use ours all the time to wash off after swimming (especially the G-kids). I even built a pvc shower surround with a curtain for a little privacy.

We use the outside "shower" every day, for dishwashing, rinsing off sand, filling the dog bowl; never as a shower.
If you have a choice, put it under the awning, but far enough from the door that you don't have to walk through the puddle it sometimes makes.
