Going shopping Nuevo Progreso next week and just wanted to know what are some of the better things to buy there.

Nice little town.
We get dental work done there (it's about a tenth the price of our dentist at home), buy some scrips for us and heartworm drugs for the dog. If you get into some of the alleyway shops just off the main drag, you can find beautiful jewelry, leatherwork and blankets. The farther away from the border you get, the more the prices of things tend to go down and people will generally dicker down the prices.
The restaurant at the top of the Canada Store serves a nice meal.

Good advice, but I think Arturos on the left about 300 feet from the bridge is best. Pay the lot attendant and he will watch your car.

When you pull into a parking spot on the main drag, you will have a guy guide you to a spot. Pay him $2.00 and your car will not be touched by anyone.
