Have you been to Cedar Point?
How about making a tour of the theme parks and/or the amateur baseball parks within driving range.

Zips2000, It has been a long time but I really enjoyed going east. We went to Hartford area, I think New London has a sub base, then into Mass. going to Boston. They had the "Freedom Trail" which were footprints on the sidewalk taking you from the Old North Church to the Boston Commons. We found a campground that had a bus come out and pick you up and take you into Boston. While in the area, Salem-House of 7 Gables is neat. Went to Plymouth Rock, Mystic Seaport and worked our way out to Provencetown on tip of Cape Cod.

Another area that is quite nice is Asheville N.C. The Biltmore Estqte is really nice. Been there twice.

Hope you find a great place to have fun. Any camping is better than at home. Safe Travels and Happy Camping.

We are in Columbus. We took I-70 West to Denver, then up I-25 through Ft Collins. Then on into SD to see Crazyhorse and Mt Rushmore. Made our way to Madison, through Chicago and up to Holland MI. It was essentially a 3100 mile pub crawl to see microbreweries. It was the time of our life!

This spring we are circumnavigating FL. Going I-77 to I-95 to JAX, then the A1A as far south as possible. Maybe into the Keys to Bahia Honda and then back up the Gulf coast. We just got back from a quick "recon" trip (24 Rolex race in Daytona) and can't wait for the full trip!

Cheers!

We live in NW Ohio, We do a lot of the Oh state parks, most are great, also spend a lot of time in Mi since we are close to the boarder, the lake Michigan side of Mi is not to be missed , I reccomend the Traverse City / Sleeping Bear Dunes area , you can easily fill a week and not run out of fun stuff to do, the UP is great too. We usually take one big trip per year and managed to hit pretty much everywhere on the east coast one place I would reccomend that I have not seen mentioned was Ocean City Md, stay at Frontier Town and check out Assetegue Island and check out the wild horses.

Since your kids are a little younger, you might like James Island County Park in Charleston, SC. We stayed there when we first started camping (about 10 yrs ago) and we always seem to go back to this park every couple of years. Take your bikes - lots of riding paths! My kids are older and they still love it!
Happy Travels!

I suggest the New England area since you're already reasonably close. We went up last summer with our grandson and had a great time. Lots of places to camp, eat and visit. We've already been out west a couple of times and you could go to Yellowstone for a week and then make side trips from there. There's a lot to see in Yellowstone and the West so try to plan the places to absolutely must see before committing to a destination. Good luck.
