We have a 2009 Ford Expedition EL 4X4
I am looking at tv tires for the upcoming season.
Our truck has a towing capacity of 8700 lbs.
Our trailer dry weight is 4535 lbs.

Would anyone have some advice/recommendations?

I've alway's purchased Michelin XPS RIB Tires. Never a blow out, never a flat, and 40000+ miles per set. I buy them for our trucks and 5'er. I won't buy anything else. Good luck.

Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!

BFG Rugged trail T/A or Michelin LTX load range E. Both of them will yield great mileage, traction and great in all weather conditions.

Not sure what is on there now, but if they are "P" (passenger) tires, I suggest you go with "LT" (light truck) tires. That's what we did with our Expy and it made a big difference in stability when towing.

Michelin LTX MS2. Got 'em on F-250 and love 'em. Great traction, great ride and quiet. My local tire shop was told by their distributor there were on a 3 month backorder. I bought them through Discount Tire Direct and my local tire shop mounted/balanced for $10 per tire.

Put stock size tires back on the vehicle. They are designed for the odometer and speedometer to work correctly with no additional adjustments and they are required by law to handle the maximum allowable weight of ANY vehicle on which they are standard equipment.

I just bought new tires for my Tahoe online from discounttiredirect.com. You can enter your vehicle info on their site and they'll list the available tires for it. I took my new tires to WalMart and had them mounted and saved a bunch over buying locally.

Since you're not carrying a great deal of weight on the SUV itself a heavy load range tire will be overkill and will make the vehicle ride rougher. Just look at the load range on your current tires or on the vehicle info and go from there.

Hi: I use Michellin LTX on my 2004 Dodge 3/4 ton truck which I use to tow my 5th wheel trailer. This is my second set of Michlellin. The first set (same type tire)went 50,000 miles (about 20,000 of the 50,000 was towing).

Happy Camping-- Jim2007

I bought Kumho road venture sat KL61 tires for my tv. 265/70R 17 113s 60k mile warranty. i picked these tires because it is a P rated tire that can be inflated to 51 psi. Most other P tires only inflate to 44psi.it has a tread wear rating just under Michellins and higher than most, also it is rated for extreme snow meaning it is rated the same as a snow tire.Cheaper then Michellins too.
I have had them on for a month now and they run very smooth and quite. Will be re-placing my other cars tires with Kumhos also.
My trailer weight is 50000lbs GVW
