We haven't been there in 5 years. What are the chances of getting a space on a Friday night or Saturday morning for the weekend. I know this is the slower time of year. But with it being first come basis and. McGrath closet. What are my chances? Last time we went, it was $18.

Here's a link to Rincon Parkway information and the fee is 27 dollars per night.

This time of year you "should" be ok. You never know for sure, the nicer the weather the more people may go there. Good luck.

WOW! $27 for a million $ view, only. DW likes it. I think it's unsafe.

I have heard of and know of some missing property there, tie everything down or it can get legs, but I would not call it unsafe.

Thanks, last time there the guy behind me had his generator stolen. Seems thieves walk down road and find target. Then wait til night and do the job when the train rumbles by.

Last week a driver plowed into the back of a parked MH at the Rincon. The car driver died, the MH was an older one and didn't look so good. Come down to Emma Wood CG, same amenities (none), same chance to get your generator stolen, great view, no road traffic.

I prefer Thornhill Broom down past Oxnard at Point Mugu.
Same wondeful view, no train and gates are locked at night so no one can drive in.
Never had a problem there after camping there the past 8 years.

Also, they take reservatioms so no issues with not fimding a site when you get there.
But, this time of year there is plenty of room with no reservations needed.

I was going to suggest Thornhill Broome also. We have used the Rincon for day use but not camping. At least Thornhill you get a picnic table, fire pit and permanent porta potti's! Same price too!

We've been to Pt Mugu, Thornhill Broom but didn't like the rocks which made it almost impossible to walk along the beach and water's edge. Are the rocks gone?
