I don't believe that they exist now. As has been said, there are just too many people out in the bush who would have had a good sighting by now. On the other hand, I think it amazing that similar creatures are in the legends of so many mountainous areas around the world.
These creatures could have evolved from an ape/human/primate line that died out many hundreds or thousands of years ago & only exist now in the legends. The lack of remains anywhere is not that mysterious as only a tiny percentage of a population leaves behind any remains.
A good recent example of this is 'Kennewick Man'. These remains were found in Washington State a few years ago and caused quite a stir as they appeared to be very old, but appeared to be of European origin rather than Native Indian. It is believed now to be a descendent of the 'Non-oriental' inhabitants of Northern Japan, the Ainu.
I am sure that Kennewick Man did not come to North America on his own, but formed part of a migration. He is the only one of his type to be found here though!
Never miss an opportunity to walk on the grass.

reason i brought it up...on one of the episodes they had video footage from a sheriffs dash mounted cam of somethibg big and dark running right in front of the vehicle. not sure too many people would run infront of a fast moving sheriffs car just to play a prank.

Back in college, I rented a house with a few other guys. One of them had a girlfriend that used to run up and down the steps on her heels. We called her "Bigfoot". Does that count?
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

And how would you explain all the people who see and are violated, and kidnapped by the UFOs.?

If you are asking why so many people make up stories about being violated & kidnapped by the UFOs, I have no idea.

With all the avid game hunters, the archeologists, the hikers, the backwoods campers, off-roaders and the 'bigfoot' searchers.........not one carcass, bone-pile, fossil, remnants of some kind......nothing physical has ever been found.
.
The flaw in your reasoning would be the case of the mountain lion specifically in many parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
There have been sightings and fuzzy pictures of them for 15 years or possibly much longer. However, no physical evidence has ever been found in these parts including those you mention.
All the experts you mention stoutly claimed they do not exist in these parts until they started showing up on trail cameras.
