So, the DW and I had to baby-sit three of our grandkids overnight (ages 6, 4, and 1), so the DS and DIL could go to a function. The kids love snacking on Cheerios cereal.

I told them that they were really doughnut seeds, and we should plant some.

What do you know.....The next morning we had doughnuts for breakfast!!!!

My DS is still saying...."Dad, what have you done?"

It's fun being Papaw......

I love it! Wish I'd thought of it when my grandkids were small. LOL

I think it all depends on whether you plant the kosher or non-kosher Cheerio seeds.

What fun! Get the GKs wired on candy, buy them some toys that make lots of noise, have wheels and are about ankle height, or ones with a few hundred pieces that have to be assembled, or something that's messy like a paint set. Give them to the GKs as they're going home.
You know what they say about paybacks.

Years ago I used to tell my first Grandaughter she was full of beans. One day her mom took her to the doctor for a checkup and he was looking in her mouth. She then asked if he could see any beans. The doc. had a good laugh.

How cute! When my son was about 6 we were in a restaurant in Alma, New Brunswick. He and his dad were chowing down some PEI mussels that had been steamed in garlic and butter. He turned to me and asked as seriously as could be "mom, how do they get the mussels back in the shells after they cook them?". We still laugh about it. Wish I had though about Cheerios being donut or bagel seeds!

Ah yes Jim Shoe......However, you must time this event just right. Not much fun in loading them up just to discover that their parents will be home later than planned........
