We are in the process of looking for a seasonal camp site, first time. We have not stayed in any of the campgrounds that we are considering.
Any advice?

First piece of advise is don't stay for the season before you have tried it out.

Are you talking about snow-birding somewhere?

We are going to be starting our second year in a seasonal site this year. We love it! As others have basically said, "try it before you buy it". We ended-up getting a seasonal at a CG that we had stayed at many times prior over a many year period. We had gotten to know the CG, the owners, and the staff during that time, and decided it was the right place for us. I would be hard pressed to jump right into a seasonal at a CG that I had never been to before. We also selected a large corner lot that allows us to use the site as a pull-thru. Even though we are seaonal, we still like the option of being able to hook-up and hit the road for a weekend. Good luck in your search!

Which season? What part of the country? Better info will get better answers.

Where are you looking to stay? In New York?
Ditto to the advice stay there before committing to a seasonal spot. You never know truly how much you might like or dislike a place until you've camped there a couple of times.

I am able to camp 80+ nights a year thanks to having a seasonal campsite! Actually, we have two sites and have an older camper set up as our "guest quarters." It works out great! I would absolutely stay a few weekends at the campground and get a feel for the community and the caretakers. We love our neighbors and actually know them much better than the folks we officially live near!
You will want to get a handle on the rules and the partying as well. While you don't necessarily want an "anything goes" attitude from management, nor do you want things locked down so tightly you can't do things that are reasonable.
