We had one of the fuses blow (not sure too technical, hubby fixed it). we turned on the heater, and there was a horrible smell. So, spent a whole day fixing that.

Had one of the sockets burn out, hubby takes it apart and the plastic was burned.

Now, our step won't work.(automatic) Hubby is trying to fix that now. None of the rv places have this part. 2 weeks is the time they said to get the part.
So much for moving onto the next place....I guess we can use a plastic step till it gets fixed.

Lots of little things going wrong are drivin' me nuts. thanks for listening.

Don't get DW started about our last trip!! This is the definition of RV. Just keep going, get on here and gripe about it, then enjoy everything else. Just be glad the your DH can fix some of it.

As a wise man once said......"RV, a hole in the road that you pour money into".

But all worth it in the long run!

Feel sorry for the people that are tool challenged and cannot fix anything.

Good One!

I'm handy so I really don't sweat the minor fixes.

BUT once I found out that there are mobile RV repair guys available at all the CG's and usually carry all those 'parts that always break on an RV' on board.....something breaks, I pull into a CG, get the number of the local mobile RV repair from the front desk, call, sit back and open a cold one and let the guy start repairing away!

If he doesn't have the part HE goes and gets it. IMHO the only way to have your RV repaired, I don't ever go to dealerships anymore I schedule all my maintenance AND repairs at the CG of my choice!.

I think I would be finding an electrician to find out why so many things are getting fried. Did you have some kind of overload or something before this all started? I use a so called surge protector that does so much more for protecting the rv. The kind that won't let the current through until it makes sure it is right and is supposed to shut the power off in case it isn't.

Through the years, boats and RV's have helped people become better mechanics. Happy camping !

X2 on everything.

I fix most everything while on the road, but there are times when calling the local mobile RV guy makes the most sense. Every park knows of them and will always recommend the best. Their business depends on it.

When I first started reading this forum I figured I would jump in the class A and drive off. The reality is if you use the rig, things break down all the time and need repair. Thank goodness I'm retired and have the time and ability to stay ahead of it. I'm sure some rigs are problem free, but not many.
