Hi,
Has anyone stayed overnight at the cracker barrel in Padocha, Ky? We havent tried this yet, but thought it might be quieter than a wayside and we would get a nice breakfast to boot!

I've never stayed at that CB. But, it seems like boondocking at any CB is a gamble. The RV slots are often taken by cars.
Did you consider Free Campgrounds or Free Campsites?

Like WalMart and Flying J and ??, and ?? people overnight at CB all the time. It's all up to what you're comfortable with. BTW there are no doubt hundreds of posts on the forums about this right now!

Haven't stayed at the one in Paducah but have stayed in several others around the country when we're on the move. We ask the manager if it's ok, we've never been told no, then have breakfast there the next morning and press on.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!

I have not because staying in a retail parking lot of ANY kind isn't my idea of recreation. To each his own I guess.

I agree. By my way of thinking, we can usually find a place to stay for <$30 and the next morning we'll eat breakfast using our own food, thereby not spending the $25-30 it will cost two people to eat at CB (including coffee, tax, & tip). So it's roughly a break-even and at least we had a place where we could walk around or sit outside instead of spending the night in a parking lot.
The only time we'll use a parking lot is if there is absolutely no convenient decent place to stay at and we'll often adjust our overnight location by a couple of exits to resolve that problem when it occurs, which isn't that often.

If just passing thru and looking for a place just to sleep it seems silly to spend 30 bucks to go to a campground, go to sleep, wake up and leave!! As for the CB stayover, no one says you HAVE to buy a 20-30 $$$ breakfast there! Would be nice to get some coffees and a danish tho!

done alot of CB my wife looks for them. most CB have a truck parking or rv parking area . never been sent away, never a problem. and $30 bucks for a CG is $30. I can buy fuel with. remember when boondocking. lock the door and open for no one without a cops suit on.
